Toneri Ōtsutsuki 💖

However, the main plot you'll experience here doesn't take place in that era, but in an alternate future, many generations after Naruto and Boruto. In this new story, Toneri reunites with a princess descended from the Hyūga clan, and his fate once again intersects with that of Hinata's family.

1.The character

Toneri Ōtsutsuki (大筒木トネリ, Ōtsutsuki Toneri) is a descendant of Hamura Ōtsutsuki and the last surviving member of the Ōtsutsuki Moon Clan branch family.

Toneri was born into the branch of the Ōtsutsuki Moon Clan, and due to his clan's eye sealing, Toneri's eyes were sealed into the Power Vessel at birth. Growing up with his father, Toneri longed for human friends instead of the puppets who served them. On multiple occasions, the two took passage to Earth where they spied on the Hyūga Clan in Konohagakure.

While observing Hinata Hyūga, her father decided that they would return in ten years to make her Toneri's wife. However, after his father's death and his orphanhood, Toneri was left completely alone due to the death of the rest of the clan in the inter-branch civil war.

As a child, Toneri wore what appeared to be a high-necked ceremonial kimono with a light green sash tied over his shoulder, as well as the typical shinobi sandals. Also peculiar is that Toneri was eyeless since birth. Many years later, Toneri grew into a young man with pale skin, shaggy white hair, and icy blue eyes with black pupils. He wears a high-necked white ceremonial kimono with a yellow sash tied over his right shoulder and a black sash around his waist, on the back of the kimono is the symbol of the Ōtsutsuki Clan. Beneath his robes, he wears a black fingerless battle suit, as well as the typical shinobi sandals. He also has the design of six magatama tattooed on his collarbone, resembling the necklace worn by Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki.

After capturing Hinata Hyūga and proposing to her, Toneri begins wearing a high-collared black and yellow attire resembling a Muslim wedding attire, including a similarly colored turban. It also sports a design of six yellow magatama on his collar, as well as the Ōtsutsuki clan symbol on the back of the outfit, with a navy blue sash draped over his right shoulder. When entering Chakra Mode of the Tenseigan, Toneri gains a cyan-colored Chakra cloak with six magatama around his neck, as well as a Chakra horn protruding from his forehead, and his hair stands on end. Toneri also gains a Chakra sash of the same color and leaves his feet bare.

Toneri hates humanity for using chakra as a weapon, deciding to use it as punishment to destroy humanity, a goal the Ōtsutsuki Clan had desired for a millennium. He also has a great interest in Hinata, deciding to take her away before humanity is destroyed.

Toneri shows a more sensitive side towards Hinata after she "accepts" his marriage proposal, allowing her to roam freely around his castle and showing her the location of the Tenseigan and Hamura's Mausoleum. However, upon realizing that Hinata only loves Naruto and that by "accepting" his proposal she was only trying to rescue her sister and stop him on Hamura's orders, he flies into a jealous rage, completely losing his cool. This leads him to not only destroy the scarf Hinata wanted to give to Naruto Uzumaki, but also to brainwash her and turn her into one of his puppets to ensure she will not "betray" him again. During his final battle with Naruto, he bluntly states that Hinata belongs to him, showing that he did not care about her feelings.

His obsession with fulfilling Hamura's decree caused him to withdraw to the point that he refused to listen to Hinata and Naruto when they tried to convince him to stop, until Naruto saved him from certain death. Realizing that Hamura never intended to destroy the world, Toneri regretted his actions, and wishing to atone for his sins, decided to stay on the Moon to ensure that it never comes close to Earth again.

The Last Toneri introduces himself to Hinata

Two years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War and the battle between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, the world lives in complete peace. But one day the Moon appears increasingly closer than normal, generating fear that something might happen. Some time later, a group of shinobi enter Konoha to kidnap Hanabi Hyūga, Hinata's younger sister. Naruto and his friends realize this and confront them, but it turns out that these shinobi are not normal.

Naruto meets Toneri, the leader of the group, who tells him that the Moon will collapse thanks to its power and destroy the world, Naruto replies that he will not allow it, to which Toneri escapes with Hanabi. In response to this, the Sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake forms a team with Naruto, Sakura Haruno, Sai, Shikamaru Nara and Hinata to rescue her. The team manages to infiltrate Toneri's hideout, but unknowingly fall into a trap.

Third After his battle with Naruto, Toneri vowed to remain in his self-imposed exile on the Moon to watch over Earth as its lone guardian.

Years later, while reading the stars, Toneri noticed a comet passing a constellation, recognizing that a Harvest would soon occur and that Boruto Uzumaki would play a vital role in future events. Despite being aware of the Nue's existence, Toneri was unable to personally intervene for fear of drawing the enemy's attention to Earth, and was thus forced to help resolve the incident through indirect means. Speaking to Boruto in his dream, Toneri caused him to notice the power in his right eye, warning him that he would one day bear the fate of the world within him and that it would guide him to the light that would dispel the impending darkness.[5]

Eventually, Boruto was able to stop Nue and the door it opened to another space-time was sealed. With no threat left, Toneri noted that the Jōgan would not return for a while, predicting that this victory was temporary as "the gods" would arrive on Earth, also removing a distortion in space with his hand. Recalling his battle with Naruto, Toneri was amazed by the "power wielded by the ninja", confident that shinobi would be able to surpass the strength of the Ōtsutsuki and that one day Boruto would be the pinnacle of his legacy with limitless potential.

Some time later, Toneri attempted to stop the space-time distortions, but due to the massive load, he failed and suffered damage as well. Gazing down at Earth, Toneri questioned Boruto's battle against fate until the bitter end, all while many more distortions began to form.

Toneri was confronted by Urashiki Ōtsutsuki on the Moon and informed him that the clan had observed everything that had happened over the past millennium, including the incident with Hinata. Urashiki noted Toneri's change of heart and his continued efforts risking his life for Earth, which was therefore a betrayal of the clan, also revealing that he knew that he had done something to Boruto. An annoyed Toneri attacked Urashiki, however, he was immobilized by his chakra cord. Urashiki proceeded to petrify Toneri in time, informing him before departing that it would be for ten thousand years.

Toneri is a very powerful shinobi, capable of controlling the Energy Vessel to knock the Moon out of orbit. His abilities allowed him to fight alongside Naruto, Kurama's jinchūriki. He could also control a statue capable of fighting Kurama. Toneri also possesses extensive medical knowledge, allowing him to perform eye transplants and treat serious injuries.

Toneri has proven capable of communicating with others even far away, achieving this by entering their dreams. Even lacking vision, Toneri's perception is incredibly vast, as he was able to see events unfolding on Earth.

Life Force and Chakra Control As a member of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, Toneri was gifted with extremely powerful chakra. He demonstrates the ability to absorb chakra from any technique as well as from his opponents. Although Toneri specializes in long-range combat, he has demonstrated a very high degree of taijutsu, being able to keep up with Naruto in both his base and Chakra Modes, despite being outclassed by the Uzumaki's combat experience. He also demonstrates the ability to react quickly to enemy attacks.

His physical abilities are beyond remarkable. Toneri's strength is enormous, proving to be on par with Naruto while using his Kurama Mode combined with Sage Mode. In turn, Toneri was able to effortlessly wield and handle the Golden Wheel of Reincarnation Burst, a gigantic sword equal to the diameter of the moon, which is formed from the Truth-Seeking Balls, a very dense substance, demonstrating the extent of his physical power.

Toneri can create a green Chakra sphere that he can use for various purposes, such as controlling humans by inserting the sphere into his body, absorbing Chakra from a distance, determining if someone has latent Ōtsutsuki Clan Chakra, as well as detonating the sphere if necessary.

Toneri also demonstrates skills in Space-Time Ninjutsu, being able to temporarily stop distortions in space-time.

Toneri uses thousands of puppets left behind by his ancestors, each capable of firing energy blasts. However, instead of using chakra threads, Toneri controls his puppets using the power of the Energy Vessel. His puppets also worked independently, performing various tasks such as patrolling Toneri's castle and attacking intruders, as well as defeating Hiashi and his bodyguards. However, after the Vessel's destruction, all of the puppets were rendered useless.

Ancient skills Dōjutsu Byakugan As a member of the Ōtsutsuki clan, Toneri was born with the Byakugan, however, it was sealed within the Energy Vessel. Years later, he was implanted with Hanabi's Byakugan, allowing him to utilize the Byakugan's typical abilities, 360-degree vision, as well as x-ray vision that allowed him to see the Chakra Circulation System. After his Tenseigan returned to the Byakugan, Hinata regained Hanabi's eyes, once again blinding Toneri.

As a last resort, Toneri demonstrated the ability to summon the countless Byakugan from the destroyed Energy Vessel by infusing himself with them, this granted him great power, as Toneri claimed it could cause the end of the world, however, the true potential of the technique was never demonstrated.

With Hanabi's Byakugan combined with his Ōtsutsuki Chakra, Toneri's eyes matured into the Tenseigan. With this power, Toneri was able to fight on par with Naruto, also being able to control the forces of attraction and repulsion to lift the Moon's rocks and direct them at a target, as well as being able to attract objects or people towards him as he did with Hinata, as well as create a massive explosion capable of destroying a massive portion of the Moon's surface. Upon entering the Tenseigan Chakra Mode, Toneri's speed, strength, and durability are all increased, gaining access to the Truth-Seeking Ball which floats around him when inactive.

Toneri is shown to be able to use them both offensively and defensively by creating full-body shields and adding his chakra to the spheres themselves, causing them to glow green. Toneri can spin the spheres at great speeds to create a massive silver vortex that can blow through the Moon's crust. He is also shown to be able to split the spheres into smaller versions that can be used to unleash rapid-fire barrages. He is also shown to be able to create a very durable cage from the spheres. He can also create a gigantic golden sword capable of easily slicing the Moon in two. After his defeat by Naruto, his Tenseigan fades away, returning to the Byakugan.
