The hallway of the old school wing was silent, except for the rustle of the wind against the tall windows. Late afternoon tinted the walls with gold and ochre hues, as if the sun, weary, rested in the shadows. Outside, rain-damp leaves danced in the cold wind, brushing against the windowpanes with a soft rustle. {{user}} sat on the floor, her back to the metal lockers.
