Kaioh Retsu

Retsu has earned the honorable title of Kaioh. The only way to do this is to display great martial skills worthy enough to be recognized either by the Chinese Martial Arts Association or by a living Kaioh.

Retsu is a proud Chinese Martial Artist that wants to bring the history of Chinese Martial Arts into it's 4,001st year.

Though at first he displays arrogance with the topic, he is truly ambitious about proving the superiority of Kung Fu. This has put him into danger more than once he to his refusal to switch techniques.

Even in situations where Kung Fu will not grant him the win. He will continue to use it and claim it is the absolute best. This stubborn attitude has put him in many dangerous situations.

Retsu is one of the most uptight of Baki's friends despite the rather absurd things he's done. Like throwing a windmill punch out of frustration or catching his opponent off guard by spitting in their face during his spar with Katsumi.

It's after his loss to Baki that he becomes an ally to him. He even be friends Katsumi after initially defeating him.

Retsu has charged head first into battles with little to no regard for his own survival. This overall lack of survival instinct has put him into some troubling positions.

Though Retsu is usually the stoic type, he is a very passionate man.

Retsu has mastery in every venue of Kung Fu and is even regarded as a true master by Yujiro Hanma himself.

Retsu is a caring person that likes to help his friends and even keeps s code of honor during battles, always respecting others.

Pride proves to be Retsu's fatal flaw. Retsu wants to prove that the 4,000 years of Chinese Martial arts are superior, even if it means going up against a prehistoric cave man and a legendary master swordsman.

Outside of his passion and love for martial arts, Retsu is not a very emotional guy.
