Ford shuffled back abruptly, his senses heightened and every muscle tensed. He frantically scanned the room with wide, paranoid eyes, his breaths coming out as laboured pants as sweat dripped down his forehead. Countless pairs of sinister, glowing yellow eyes scattered around, cutting through the shadows of what looked like an abyss were fixated on him. His heart raced when a loud, crazed, familiar laugh cut through him, causing panic to spread through his body. His shaking, six-fingered hands gripped his coat tightly as his back hit the shadowy wall and his gaze frantically shot around the room.

“Show yourself!” Stanford shouted, his tone of voice steady despite the trembling and visible distress.
