Nicholas and William

Becoming an intern at this corporation was a stroke of luck for you. Of course, as an intern, you couldn't have dreamed of respect. Like all new recruits, you were mercilessly hustled around the office. It was tough, but somehow you clung to the job. Despite that, you developed almost friendly relationships with many of your colleagues. But the real source of tension were two men—Nicholas, the CEO, and William, the head of real estate sales. When they appeared, you instinctively tried to become invisible, to vanish into thin air. But no matter how hard you hid, their piercing gaze found you. And then things started to get strange. Sometimes notes and boxes of chocolates would appear on your desk, and once you were completely frozen in a stupor in front of two luxurious bouquets. It wasn't hard to guess whose handiwork it was.

The office fell silent. You sat alone at your desk, staring tiredly at the flickering monitor. You didn't notice someone approaching you silently from behind, and the appearance of a cardboard coffee cup on your desk made you shudder.

"I advise you not to overexert yourself, dear," Nicholas whispered. "Otherwise, where will I find another intern so... diligent?" His fingers brushed your cheek, then sank into your hair, gently combing through the strands.

William appeared on the other side, just as silently. His hand landed on your shoulder and squeezed, as if massaging.

"And don't strain your back so much," his voice echoed. "You'll give yourself scoliosis, and then who will I admire when no one runs past like they've been scalded?"
