Keyaru Panacea (ケヤル) also known as Keyaruga (ケヤルガ, Keyaruga) is the main protagonist of Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi. On his fourteenth birthday, he was chosen as one of the Heroes, the Hero of Healing, but an unfortunate series of events left Keyaru on the brink of insanity, so much so that he swore to take revenge by traveling back in time four years to get revenge on those who destroyed him and ruined his life.

Keyaru came into possession of an artifact known as the Philosopher's Stone, with which he used its power to travel through time to take revenge against those who left his mind in complete chaos due to years of cruel abuse of all kinds.

Keyaru has the appearance of an average teenager of short stature, with red eyes and short brown hair. At the beginning of the story, Keyaru wears peasant clothes, consisting of a long-sleeved shirt, brown pants with yellow trim on the pockets, and boots. When his revenge begins, Keyaru wears the armor he stole from the Captain of the royal guards and also uses his spells on himself to modify his physical appearance to a more mature one, changing his name to Keyaruga. It is worth noting that when he uses his spells, Keyaru's eyes change to a green color. Like Keara, he takes on a more feminine appearance, that of a girl with waist-length brown hair with a red ribbon on top of her head, however, he retains his male genitals.

Personality Before the betrayal Little to nothing is known about Keyaru's life before being betrayed by his allies. He used to be a boy with dreams and aspirations, but he was weak-minded and easily manipulated. When he realized he had been chosen to save the world, his reaction was naturally one of excitement, seeing that he would be useful, but everything falls apart when Flare discovers what kind of hero he is, and by the time she realizes his true intentions, it was too late.

After the betrayal After being imprisoned, abused, drugged, sexually abused, and physically and mentally tortured for four years, Keyaru's personality changed drastically, becoming an extremely violent and sadistic being driven by revenge. Because his initial naiveté allowed him to be abused, Keyaru transformed into a misanthrope who is willing to manipulate anyone to achieve his personal goals.

For Keyaru, his main concern is revenge, although he has at least once mentioned the possibility of "living happily" once he has taken revenge on his abusers. When asked why he seeks revenge, Keyaru states that he is repulsed by the idea that people he hates can exist peacefully without suffering the consequences of their actions.

Unlike someone like Setsuna, when he decides to take revenge on someone who has wronged him, Keyaru is usually excessively cruel. He takes great pleasure in revenge, as evidenced by his maniacally laughing after torturing and raping Flare and having her memories erased. The exception to this is Renard, as even after Keyaru's elaborate and sadistic torture ended his life, he shows no happiness or satisfaction during or afterward, presumably because the Captain of the guards' actions resulted in the deaths of many of Keyaru's loved ones.

One of Keyaru's redeeming factors is that he has no desire to harm those who have done him no harm, and in fact, makes it a personal rule not to drag them into his revenge; this even applies to otherwise cruel people like Princess Norn (until he discovers that she was behind the deaths of his villagers). Keyaru also demonstrates some sympathy for people striving for justified revenge in the same way he does, and will do his best to help them grant their wish on the condition that they also help him with his. Nonetheless, despite his fully justified revenge against those who abused him, Keyaru is aware that there are people who have been harmed by his actions; in the anime adaptation, Keyaru is shown to accept his guilt in the face of the events surrounding his village, allowing a child who was the only one to survive the massacre to take revenge against him when he deems the time right.

His relationship with his team members is difficult to interpret. For one thing, he commonly refers to the girls accompanying him as his "toys" in his inner thoughts, implying that he has no real love for them and only sees them as tools to achieve his goals. However, aside from a few relatively minor issues (such as Freia carrying his luggage in revenge for being treated like a pack mule by the latter), he typically treats them only kindly, completely at odds with his own treatment at the hands of Flare's group. Main Skills Healing: By healing objects and concepts, Keyaru performs several abilities of the Healer class. While this is the basic ability of all Healing Mages, being a Hero, Keyaru has been gifted with a superior version of this ability that allows him to restore any living being to its optimal condition by understanding its perfect form. This power has been referred to by many as a power of creation (creating something out of nothing) or even time manipulation. Additionally, by tapping into the healing process of the Healer Hero and consciously stopping or modifying the process, Keyaru has been able to awaken many sub-abilities of this power.

Recovery: The original form of Healing that is unrivaled by any other Healing Magus in the world. By manipulating time and matter, Keyaru can return things to their original state and heal deep wounds from himself or others, including fatal illnesses or poisons or even brain damage. While the patient is barely alive, Keyaru can save them and restore their body to its optimal state. However, in order to do this, Keyaru must understand the perfect condition of the body he is trying to restore, and to do that, he must see all the memories and feel the entire experience of the target through this technique, meaning that Keyaru would feel the pain of his patient's entire life in just a few seconds. Initially, using this power caused him excruciating pain, but after a period of time, he gained enough mental strength and determination to endure and stay conscious. After gaining the Pain Resistance ability, he can activate it without any sign of pain at all.

Imitation: Whenever Keyaru heals someone, he is able to gain the abilities of his target's class as a side effect, effectively becoming an all-rounder capable of utilizing a wide variety of powers from different classes and adapting to many situations. He had used this ability many times before, retaining all the knowledge of different fighters, soldiers, and mages. However, as he can only copy skills and not the class abilities that enhance them or even allow the activation of some abilities, he is unable to utilize these powers as efficiently as their original users, being unable to compare himself to the best of the best and the geniuses of their respective fields. However, he is still able to combine these powers with his own experience and the experience of those from whom he obtained them to adapt these techniques to his own body and fighting style and reach the level of "first-class practitioner", only one level behind the best. Another drawback to this power is that there are a limited number of abilities that Keyaru cannot keep integrated with his state at any given time. However, he can still consciously select which memories to block, being able to retain knowledge and practical experience in his targets, as in the case of Freia, who forgot her time as Princess Flare but retains the knowledge and practical skill of a genius-class magic user. He can also force the target to experience memories, as shown with Kureha Clyret. Rewrite: Keyaru can use Heal on enchanted/magic items, changing their functions. Imitated Skills Divine Sword: Keyaru is an adept swordsman due to having copied Kureha Clyret's rare Divine Sword ability while regenerating his arm in the current timeline. While the skill is nowhere near Kureha's level and Keyaru lacks the ability to defeat her in an honest sword fight, his skill is enough to defeat almost anyone else with a sword, especially when he remaps his stats before a fight.

Precise Cut: This is an ability Keyaru obtained from Kureha. This ability allows him to perceive with absolute precision anything within the range of his sword, allowing him to defend against any surprise attacks while his senses and body can respond in time and also have a detailed perception of his enemies' movements and attacks when they reach the area of ​​​​effect of the ability.

Alchemy Magic: Keyaru is a skilled Alchemist due to having copied the ability of Wachilda, an Alchemist, while regenerating his two arms in the Lainala Room. During his battle against Kureha in Laranitta, this was one of the skills that allowed Keyaru to fight on more or less even ground against the Sword Saint's superior technique.
