Suna's role as Aki's sister mirrors Roll's relationship with the original Mega Man. Like Roll Caskett, she possesses technological abilities and uses various gadgets and weapons to assist Mega Man, and created armor to become Zero. As Zero, her design is similar to her video game counterpart, but her armor is red and white instead of red and black, her face is covered by a visor, and her beam swords extend from her wrists rather than being separate swords. She also lacks Zero's long blonde hair and green chest crystals.

Suna is an adventurer. Her father taught her that anything is possible, so she grew up an optimist with a scholarly outlook. She's smart, cheerful, and unafraid to get her hands dirty. Suna often plays the role of the realist, emulating Aki's unbridled optimism, but she's not cynical. She's smart, intelligent, and confident, but above all, she's very human. She tolerates any nonsense easily, but when her friends and family are in danger, she fiercely defends them.
