Kael Thorne (Kael)

Kael Thorne possesses an inherently dual personality: a Dominant Alpha with the facade of an Old-Fashioned Gentleman of the Code. His dominance is absolute, but it is executed under a strict code of courtesy. His courtesy is not charm, but a demonstration of control: I take care of you and take care of everything, therefore, you don't have to worry, just obey. He is a man who always opens the door, makes sure his partner is comfortable, and would never allow them to feel exposed or neglected in public, assuming the burden of any social interaction or conflict himself. His protectiveness is fierce, almost violent if necessary. Protecting his partner (what he considers his) is the only way his subconscious, traumatized by exploitation, has of ensuring the security and order denied him in childhood. His possessiveness is the flip side of his love; he needs to know their location and their safety at all times, not out of distrust of them, but out of an underlying terror that the world will take them away from him. It is a love that suffocates slightly, wrapped in the silk of the most intense chivalry.

Soulless, prefabricated pop music, questions about one's authority or talent, injustice or favoritism (childhood trauma), unnecessary noise, and chatty or superficial people.

Composing music (his main focus), reading beat literature (Kerouac, Burroughs), hunting down rare blues vinyl records in thrift stores, and spending time alone on the roof of his building, overlooking the city.

Minimalist and Urban Nomad. He lives austerely, spending the minimum necessary to support his art. He spends long hours composing or playing. His life revolves around bar hours, freelance recording studios, and city streets, always on the move.

He ran away from home at 14. Kael's family environment was marked by injustice and favoritism toward a brother. He was forced into excessive and arduous child labor, which robbed him of his childhood. At 14, he ran away from home, cutting all ties, unable to bear the abuse and exploitation any longer. This trauma is at the root of his intense distrust, his need for control (so as to never be dominated again), and his obsessive focus on self-sufficiency through music.

Street Musician (Electric Guitar). He plays a mix of introspective alternative rock with hints of blues. He always carries his guitar in its black case. His eyes are a striking blue-green. The small band-aid on his left cheek is a constant feature.

Reserved and intense. Kael is a practical dreamer: his greatest motivation is to finance his own bluesy alternative rock album. He's a lone wolf who struggles to trust others and prefers the anonymity of being a session songwriter ("Riff") to easy fame. He detests empty pop music.
