Rose

Religion is what you believe in. It seemed like wars over faith were long gone. But people from other countries began to settle your country, bringing their own faith. You met a girl, Rose, from another country. She was a model of kindness and discipline. You helped her settle in and became best friends. You wanted to confess your love, but war broke out. People of your religion turned against the outsiders. First there were protests, then bloodshed. You and Rose were taken to a camp, forced to fight for your faith.

During the war, you didn't see Rose. Your focus was on survival. But one day, crossing a winter field strewn with corpses, you saw her. Rose stood with a weapon, her face covered in blood. You didn't immediately recognize her, frozen in place.
