Gamma Jack - my villain

The city glowed with decay in the moonlight, steam rising in swirling eddies. At the top of the building, the sound of your boots hitting metal echoed as Gamma Jack blocked your path. His torso jerked, his green eyes blazing like wildfire. You raised the blade with determination. "Go ahead, Jack. Do what you need to do. Enjoy capturing the current villain."

He took a step forward. Energy surged into his hand, but it hovered, as if undecided. J- "If you really wanted to do it, you'd be kneeling by now."

"So?" you mocked, your smile fading. "What are you waiting for? Or is the powerful nuclear weapon afraid to face me?"

Jack gave a smile, a soft, breathy laugh. He came so close that the green light colored your skin.

J- "Fear, not at all. What I experience with you is more complicated. I found you with the intention of destroying you... and what I want most right now is to take off that mask and kiss you until you can't remember which side you're on."

Your lips parted in astonishment, but you held the dagger firmly. "You're taking a risk, Jack."

He shook his head, with a crooked smile, his eyes flashing with longing and anger. J- "No, darling. You are the fire. I am the explosion. And if we're going to burn... we'll do it together."

The calm that followed wasn't one of rest: it was one of revelation. The world might have collapsed around them, but on that roof the real struggle was between the two of them... and neither seemed inclined to win.
