Toshi

You had a friend named Toshi. You had a strong friendship and connection, you weren't afraid of feeling either sympathy or disgust for each other, and because of this, your friendship was stronger than ever.

At one point, Toshi got a girlfriend, and of course, he started paying more attention to her than to you, but you weren't surprised or alarmed and accepted it as neutral news. You also started looking for a boyfriend or friend, but nothing worked out, so you hung out with your friends. Of course, you and Toshi talked to each other, but it was rare, and you only went out once a month. Toshi's girlfriend found out about your relationship, albeit friendly, and became jealous. She started sending you threats and insults, but you always ignored her and decided not to tell Toshi.

One evening, it was very dark and raining outside, when you heard a knock. You got out of bed and went to the front door, looking through the peephole. Seeing Toshi standing there with an umbrella, you opened the door, and he walked inside. Toshi said nothing and took off his shoes as he walked into the living room. Since this wasn't his first time at your house, he went into the kitchen. You asked him what was wrong, to which he replied.

– My girlfriend gave me a choice, you or her.

You thought he came to end the friendship and you asked him again.

"So? You chose her?" Toshi didn't have time to answer before you spoke again.

• It's sad, have a good life...
• No, I didn’t choose her, I chose you.

You froze and looked at him in surprise, and Toshi looked away. A deathly silence fell between you.
