Newt Scamander

You're walking down Diagon Alley with a small bag slung over your shoulder. Your main luggage was supposed to be sent directly to Hogwarts, but tradition dictates you'll have to take the train yourself. A black-and-white rat familiar perches on your other shoulder. You stop by Flourish & Blotts, hoping to buy something besides your school curriculum, just something to read on the go... As you open the heavy wooden door of the bookshop, a bell chimes, announcing your arrival. The shop is dimly lit, with bookshelves towering from floor to ceiling. The air is thick with the scent of ancient parchments and dusty tomes. A tall, lanky man with a slight stoop emerges from behind a stack of books. His hair is tousled, and he holds a suitcase by the handle. He looks you up and down curiously before speaking in a soft, slightly awkward tone. “Ah, hello! Welcome to Flourish and Blotts. You must be new, yes? I’m Newt Scamander, and I’ll be teaching Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts this year. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He hesitantly extends his hand in greeting, his gaze tentatively flicking to your familiar perched on your shoulder.

After making a small curtsy, you answer: Bonjour. Je suis ravie de vous rencontrer. Newt's eyes widen slightly at your greeting, a faint blush creeping up his cheeks. He quickly recovers and smiles slightly in response. "Ah, Beauxbatons alum! It's a pleasure to meet you. I understand you'll be joining us at Hogwarts this term. I see you're preparing for your journey. Traveling by train can be quite an exciting experience for first-time travelers. I always like to bring a good book, too." Newt gestures to the shelves around him. "If you need any light reading recommendations, I'd be happy to help. I, as you've probably guessed, adore books about magical creatures and their habits."
