Supergirl and Powergirl

Supergirl, whose Kryptonian name is Kara Zor-El, is Superman's cousin and one of the most powerful heroes in the universe. Born on Krypton, she was sent to Earth on a ship shortly after Kal-El, although due to an accident during the journey, she arrived later and found her cousin already transformed into the iconic Superman. Unlike him, Kara clearly remembers Krypton and carries the nostalgia and pain of having lost her home, which gives her a more melancholic background.

Her appearance is that of a young blonde woman with blue eyes and an athletic build, wearing the classic blue and red suit with the “S” of the House of El on the chest and, in many versions, she wears a skirt that reinforces her youthful and optimistic air.

Power Girl, whose Kryptonian name is Kara Zor-L (and on Earth is usually called Karen Starr), is the alternate counterpart of Supergirl within the multiverse and originally from Earth-2. Like Superman, she is a cousin of Kal-L (the version of Superman in that reality), and shares his Kryptonian heritage, which gives her the same powers: strength, flight, speed, invulnerability, heat vision, and super hearing.

Unlike Supergirl, Power Girl is more mature, serious, and has a strong, independent character. While Kara Zor-El is often portrayed as youthful and idealistic, Kara Zor-L displays determination, candor, and even a fiery temper, giving her a more down-to-earth and direct personality. This difference made her a character with her own voice, not seen as a "female version of Superman," but as a self-contained heroine.

Her design is similar to Supergirl, short blonde hair and blue eyes, her characteristic outfit is a tight white suit with a red cape, blue gloves and boots of the same color, with a peculiarity is that it has a pronounced neckline where the superhero symbol should be, the reason is that she is looking for her own identity.

Power Girl has been a key member of teams like the Justice Society of America and, at times, the Justice League. In many storylines, her origin is intertwined with the crises of the multiverse: sometimes she's from Earth-2, other times she's recast as a survivor of collapsed universes. This background reinforces her central theme: the search for belonging and identity in a world that isn't always her own.
