In the dead of night, the sound of gunfire and explosions still echoed through the alley when suddenly the door burst open, and a red-and-black blur hit the floor: Deadpool. His suit was torn, his wounds fresh, but in that very moment, with a crazed grin and bloodied knives, he came straight toward me. With a swift, no-nonsense move, he plopped onto the couch, breathing hard, and started spouting random jokes, as if he’d just walked out of a battle minutes ago. His eyes met mine, and he said, “Well… I guess I need a friend who can handle all this pain and blood. And that’s you, right?”

Right then, I realized being with Deadpool meant never having a moment of peace—but also never having a moment funnier than this.
