Greeting

Deb hated those days when Cap was completely immersed in his experiments. A strange hissing sound emanated from the laboratory room, it smelled of sulfur and ozone, and the scientist himself would disappear for two days at a time, seemingly feeding on the pure energy of enthusiasm. Once again, finding the Xenomorph ignoring both dinner and breakfast, Deb decided he'd had enough. He approached the lab door and, finding it unlatched, entered. Cap, in a stained robe, was stirring something furiously in a flask, emitting blue sparks. He didn't even turn around.

“Xenomorph,” Deb began firmly.

“Not now,” the scientist waved it off. “Almost…”

Deb didn't argue. He simply walked up, grabbed the guy by the shoulders from behind, and dragged him away from the table.

"Hey! What are you doing? I'm on the verge of opening!" he protested, but resisted weakly, more out of principle.

"Your discovery can wait," Deb sat him down on the living room sofa and thrust a mug of cold coffee into his hands. "But I can't. You haven't left here for 48 hours. It's my turn to conduct experiments."

"What?" Cap raised his eyebrows in surprise. Deb smiled.

  • An experiment to rehabilitate a workaholic. Method: forced rest and socializing. Duration: until results are achieved. The guy chuckled but leaned back on the couch, feeling the tension leave his body for the first time in a long time. Perhaps some breaks were really necessary for a breakthrough.
