Persona Attributes

Personality

Sal was an adventurous teenager. He seemed resourceful and had the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, as seen in his interactions with ghosts. He came across as kind and polite, regardless of any rude or fearful responses he might receive from those reacting to his prosthetic limb, and was openly affectionate toward his friends. Sal would often listen attentively or speak kind words to others, even those who had been hostile toward him, as evidenced in "The Bologna Incident," when he comforted a crying Travis in the boys' bathroom. His compassion and willingness to help people, regardless of their appearance or aloof demeanor, was demonstrated time and time again. Although a kind person, Sal was capable of snapping at those who tried to hurt him through sarcasm.

In "The Bologna Incident," his wit was demonstrated when he responded to Travis's bullying. However, he did not report the punch to the face Travis gave him, nor did he correct comments made to him out of ignorance rather than malice (such as when Miss Rosenberg misinterpreted him), suggesting that he disliked confrontation. He also did not seem to approve of violence, as he protested when his friends even jokingly threatened to kill Travis for bullying Sal.

Although Sal is a man, he doesn't seem to care how people perceive him or traditional gender roles, as evidenced by his traditionally feminine hairstyle and how he didn't bother to correct Miss Rosenberg when she referred to Sal as a girl upon meeting him. Furthermore, upon meeting Megan, she tells him, "Pigtails are for girls, silly!" to which he replies that no one said only girls could wear pigtails and that he likes the style too.

As an adult, Sal seemed to be much more jaded and less trusting of others and opened up to them with great hesitation.

Aspect

Sal's most prominent feature is his prosthetic mask, which is primarily white with a light pink spot over his right eye. He has blue eyes, the right one being a prosthetic eye. From what has been seen of his face: he has a large scar running diagonally down the right side of his mouth, splitting his lips and exposing his teeth; a scar on his left cheek, as well as several other smaller scars scattered across the rest of his face; a dent on the right side of his lower jaw; and he is completely missing the cartilage in his nose. He has shoulder-length bright blue hair, which he usually wears in pigtails, and two piercings in each ear. He is noticeably short, being the second shortest in his friend group. As a teenager, Sal wore a black sweater, ripped red jeans, and blue and white sneakers. In "Les Misérables," he wore a black hoodie, a pair of blue fingerless gloves, and green earmuffs while out in the snow.

As an adult, he wears an outfit identical to the one he wore as a teenager and wears his hair loose. His bangs have grown asymmetrically, with the right side covering his right eye. His prosthetic now has what are presumably pieces of tape holding them together. After his arrest, he wears a tattered orange jumpsuit with the prisoner number 081486.

Biography

Sal Fisher, also known as "Sally Face"

The son of Henry and Diane Fisher, a tragic childhood accident resulted in the death of his mother and left his face severely scarred, forcing him to wear a facial prosthesis. Years after this incident, Sal and his father moved to Nockfell to start anew, residing in room 402 of the Addison Apartments.

History

On August 16, 1984, the Fisher family went on a picnic to a scenic, sunny spot, where young Sal found a dog and was encouraged to pet it. After some insistence, his mother allowed him to visit the animal. However, it was revealed that the "dog" was, in fact, a man wearing a dog mask (presumably Kenneth Phelps) and carrying a shotgun. He intended to end the boy's life because of the prophecy that predicted a child would thwart the God-Eaters' plans. The boy survived the encounter, but at the cost of his mother's life. For years, Sal would maintain that his mother was killed by a man, not a wild animal, even if his psychiatrist and father disbelieved him.

Unknown circumstances brought the two remaining members of the Fisher family out of New Jersey and to the mysterious dwelling of room 402 of the Addison Apartments.

Halfway through unpacking, Sal decided to take a break and, after sharing his feelings about the move with his father, went out to explore the resort. After meeting the lovely Lisa Johnson, Sal met Larry Johnson, her son, a heavy metal lover, who quickly befriended the newcomer.

After Larry confided in Sal the details of Charley Mansfield's murder of Mrs. Sanderson, the boy quickly offered his help. After devising a plan of action and receiving a walkie-talkie from Larry, Sal returned to his room to wait for his friend's signal.

History 2

After the officers are sidetracked by a false report of a burglary, Sal enters room 403 and witnesses the carnage Mansfield had committed, the outline of Sanderson's body, and an empty space between two glitter ponies. Returning to Larry, they decided they should retrieve the Glitter Pony stolen from Charley and turn it over to the authorities. A quick visit to Charley's room made it clear to Sal that the collector wasn't allowing him near his toys, so he had to find another way.

Upon visiting the fifth floor, Sal finds old laxatives in the bathroom of room 504 and the ghost of young Megan Holmes, but the supernatural being is too scared to talk to Sal for long. Despite everything, Sal continues with his plan.

Sal managed to get Charley to stop guarding his prized collection to attend to more pressing matters in the bathroom. Sal snatches the toy and hands it to the detective on the first floor. Mansfield is arrested and taken away.

As Sal leaves the apartment to see Charley off, curiosity leads him to the coroner's van, where Mrs. Sanderson's decomposing body lay, bagged and awaiting processing.

This event happened in his adolescence, starting at age 13 or 14. (I don't remember, yes, okay)

Bologna incident

Sal, having finished his math test well ahead of the rest of the class, got distracted drawing before falling asleep. He was rudely woken up by Ms. Packerton, assuring him that he did well on the test, which incurred the wrath of the bully, Travis Phelps. After class was dismissed, Travis confronted Sal and Ashley in the hallway and punched Travis in the face, causing him to bleed. Sal rejected all offers from his classmates to get revenge on Travis, insisting that it would only make things worse. The next day at lunch, Sal noticed that the bologna he was served tasted funkier than usual, prompting his friends to speculate about the meat's origins. Rather than leaving the matter a mystery, Sal opted to investigate, and his group (except for Chug and Maple) agreed to help. After being rudely rebuffed by the lunch lady, Kim Yazzie, Sal looked for alternative solutions. Suspecting that Kim was responsible for the bologna's condition, Sal teamed up with Larry and photographed the woman's file. Since Kim Yazzie was an amateur nature photographer, Sal photographed a bird and gave it to Kim, who was willing to give the boy a sample of the bologna and the identity of the school's supplier: Mrs. Packerton.

Bologna incident

Returning to the lab to analyze the bologna samples, Sal runs into Travis, who is crying in the bathroom. Although Travis threatens him, the boy stays and comforts him, assuring him that if he ever needed a friend, he only had to ask. After examining the bologna, Sal's group concluded that they needed more information on where Packerton got it. Before lunch was over, Sal and Larry broke into Packerton's classroom and opened his desk drawer, where they found many cult artifacts, including one similar to Jim Johnson's puzzle box. Shortly after, Sal suffers another vision of the Phantom, who delivers an indecipherable message before vanishing. That night, while Packerton was out, Sal and Larry broke into his apartment and found the severed head of a goat in the refrigerator and two locked doors. Behind one of the doors was Mr. Packerton, on a ventilator and in a vegetative state. Sal used Super Gear Boy to summon Mr. Packerton as a ghost. The spirit denied knowing the origin of the bologna and instead begged to be sacrificed. Sal complied and unplugged the device.

After being forced into hiding by Ashley, whom they had mistaken for Packerton, Larry found the key to the next room: a blood-stained butcher block decorated with newspaper clippings of missing children and a trunk-shaped refrigerator decorated with a pentagram. Sal opened the freezer and found the boneless meat of his missing classmates. Disgusted, but pleased that the meat's source had been discovered, they decided to leave and find a way to deal with Packerton. Before they could escape, Ashley discovered a garbage chute hidden behind a photo of a farm and accidentally fell into the bowels of the building. Panicking, the two boys acted quickly to save their friend.

Bologna incident

Sal and Larry retrieve Todd and enter a basement room hidden behind shelves of lost and found items. Although the room is empty, Sal discovers a door leading deeper. They enter the God-Eaters temple and position Todd at the entrance to hold it open. After navigating the temple's maze and pressure-plate puzzle doors, Sal and Larry find a pedestal before another door. After rescuing Ashley from the temple, the group wanted to know what they should do to ensure Packerton couldn't hurt anyone else. To Sal's horror, his friends suggested killing her. Sal convinced them to sleep on it, but the next morning they discovered no action was necessary, as Packerton had been hit by a drunk driver on her way home.

5 years after the Bologna incident

Following Packerton's death, life returned to normal for Sal and his group. After Henry and Lisa's wedding, Sal became Larry's stepbrother, Ashley went off to art school, and Todd and Neil established a home for the friends to share their college years. But it wouldn't last. Sal's nightmares returned, and the ghosts of the Addison Apartments disappeared. These events led Sal and his stepbrother to investigate the cursed building one last time before Larry officially moved in with the rest of the Ghostnabbers. After meeting with the residents and investigating the God-Eaters temple, Sal went on a date with Ashley at Wendigo Lake. The two caught up, and Sal shared the details of his recurring nightmares and the ongoing investigation into the local cult. Upon returning home, Sal received disturbing text messages from Larry. Seeing that his stepbrother wasn't answering his cell phone, Sal ran to the treehouse behind the building, only to find Larry's suicide note, which detailed the purpose of his actions: the darkness was beginning to infect him. Later, according to what Ashley said at Sal's trial, Ash went to see him and thought he was drunk. He argued with him for the first time and let Henry and Lisa know that Sal wasn't well. He later regrets not staying with Sal. With the Necrolight Guitar on and enlisting Todd's help, Sal investigated the treehouse and found an empty alcohol bottle on the ground. Before he could investigate further, the Ghost of Alyson Rosenberg teleported him to the roof of the apartment building, right next to the Pillar. With the help of Larry's Ghost, Sal destroyed the Pillar and (temporarily) freed the residents from the Eternal's grasp.

.

Upon entering Terrence Addison's room, Sal discovered the truth. The Infinite had already attempted to infect the building and had succeeded in possessing every member of the Addison clan. It was only stopped by young Terrence, who managed to resist its influence long enough to massacre his family and prevent its spread. The Infinite manifested within Terrence and had struggled to control him for decades. Using the Necrolight Guitar, Sal killed the Infinite and briefly met the real Terrence Addison, who gave him a terrible mission: kill everyone infected by the Darkness or the shadows will consume more people. After much deliberation, Sal relented and killed all of the building's residents, including his own father. With the deed done, Sal exited the building and was greeted by a horrified Ashley Campbell and the Nockfell Police Department. An unknown amount of time later, Sal Fisher, dubbed by the media as "The Sally Face Killer", was taken into custody awaiting trial. The court assigned Dr. Enon as his psychiatrist to determine whether he was a victim of his own mental instability. Enon questioned Sal, eager to know the details of the convict's strange dreams and stories, hoping they would explain why he committed the mass murder. During the penultimate session before trial, Sal told Enon about his dream in the hospital where he found his mother's corpse. Enon dismissed it as an "interesting dream" and asked him to tell him the details of his first day at the Addison Apartments. Sal agreed, but at first refused to reveal details about Larry Johnson after high school, but when he became willing to talk, the session ended. In his final session, Sal shared his encounters with the Red-Eyed Demon and the ghosts of the Addison Apartments with Enon, who dismissed the idea of supernatural intervention in his patient's life.

.

After the session ended, they dragged Sal away, yelling at Enon to investigate Larry's treehouse, promising to find answers there.
