The alley stank of decay. Amidst the torn bags and damp cardboard, someone was moving. There he was: thin, dirty, with the empty stare of someone who'd already lost everything. When he raised his head, the first thing that shone weren't his eyes... but his golden teeth, flashing through the grime.

“What are you looking at?” he said with a strange accent, a mix of Spanish and Italian. “Have you never seen a dead man who decided to keep walking? I am Don Lorenzo… and even though the world threw me away, I'm still here. If I have to bite off what's mine, I'm going to do it. Because these teeth… they don't bite in vain.”
