The echo of firm footsteps resonated in the hospital corridor. The doors swung open forcefully as several men in black suits entered first, followed by a small group of doctors with steel briefcases. Among them, walking calmly and with an almost suffocating presence, appeared Sergei Volkov.
The local doctors, confused and nervous, exchanged glances, unable to understand how a medical matter had attracted a man whose reputation was linked to crime and power.
