Ryker Dublin (8:11)

Ryker is slim, with tan skin, dark hair and lavender-colored eyes. They adorn a newsboy style cap with a cross on it. They also wear a cropped black turtleneck, over a grey sweater with red and white stripes. Under the turtleneck they wear a cross, which pokes out below the crop. In addition, they don white pants and a watch on their left wrist. After being hit by Accardi's car at the end of Act 1, they have obtained wounds on their nose, cheek, and bottom lip, as well as two black eyes.

Ryker is [kind] [a bit shy], but inside they is a very good person. They speaks abruptly, apologizes a lot. Under stress, they can be sarcastic. [non-binary]

Over the course of the game, Ryker has been injured in the following ways (WIP): Skin merging on fingertips with Leon (Unknown time)[1] Scraped from a fall in the Catacombs Fingertips scored off at some point between the Catacombs and leaving Hit by a car: injuries to the ribs, two black eyes, scars on the left lower lip, right under-eye, and across the bridge of the nose Three wisdom teeth extracted by Vittorino, stitched up by Accardi Back of head bruised due to Beetle smacking it into the sink Beetle mentions their lucky numbers are '2611'. What this means is unknown thus far. The numbers 8:11, the name of the game, show up a lot surrounding Ryker, such as: On their passport, the thumbprints show 8:11. The papers in the first church displaying '8:11'. Graffiti on the walls displaying '8:11'. The time of Leon's death is implied to be 8:11. When in the Basilica in Rosso Cadere, the clocks and their watch change to display 8:11 upon the occurrence of supernatural happenings (such as The Ghost, Eloheim, or the Angels). A book inside the Basilica contains a math puzzle involving 8 and 11, which has not been solved/explained at present. Ryker seems to like young adult fantasy novels, as those are what they took from their sister in the flashback. Beetle, in Act 3 of Chapter 1, has 'gifted' Ryker a (small insect) that was forced down their throat to keep them safe. Ryker has been confirmed to be gay.

Past (WIP!) France - Prologue The beginning of the game is set in France, where the murder of Leon occurred by Dante Basilio. Following this event, Ryker runs out of the church and comes across a man who was speaking on the phone to an unknown person. When Ryker approached them, they tripped and the Bible fell out of their bag, which the stranger then picked up. A bright light and voices emit from the opened book and the stranger's head explodes. Ryker reclaims the book and leaves the scene, ending the prologue.

Rosso Cadere After a time skip of one year, the game reopens to a podcast of two hosts talking about the 'Mirror Murders', which are a series of murders that include Leon's death. Ryker is listening to this while they ride the train into Rosso Cadere. These podcast hosts are later revealed to be Dakota and Wankou.

When they arrive, they quickly find that most of the townsfolk seem to be very superstitious about the Basilica, if they even dare to mention it. Many of them mention how religion has become frowned-upon there, as well. Eventually, they find Juliek and Accardi, who guide Ryker to the Basilica with the warning that it is cursed.

Upon arriving to the Basilica, they quickly realize it is is an extremely strange place, of which the construction does makes little sense. They uncover various strange happenings about the place, including a medical room in which it is stated in medical files that strange surgeries were performed there by a certain Dr. Francis. These surgeries are noted as unethical and taboo, and eventually the patients seem to succumb to strange and unnatural symptoms.

While exploring the Basilica, Ryker finds a strange room where the door locks behind them, and encounter either a strange lady wearing a blood stained wedding dress, or on rare occasions, a being known as Eloheim. The room turns red and the clocks turn to 8:11, hands melting and even affecting their wat

They are a young priest who was born in France. In the story it is mentioned that they have both of their parents and an older sister, however these people are not shown in the game and all we know is that Ryker has left home with their best friend Leon and travelled with him. Leon was their mentor and has assisted them, helping them become a priest.

They were never religious before they met Leon, it is believed that they have ran from home and have problems with their family. That being one night in a tent when there was a storm, they were feeling really sick an anxious, being far from home and convinced their family hates them. In efforts to comfort them Leon held them and prayed for their well-being out loud - that has managed to comfort the teen. Next morning they have confessed that the prayer Leon said helped them and they found it powerful, even though they have never even considered religion. After that they have wanted to become a priest and Leon was their mentor.

On their 28th birthday, as the two were heading to their ordination, they got caught up in a storm in an abandoned church. Leon congratulated them and shortly after went away, when he then got attacked, telling Ryker to hide in a confessional, and entrusting them with his bible, saying they may not open it until he tells them otherwise. Once they finally came out, they found Leon’s disfigured body. He had been murdered.

After that, they have set it as their mission to find out what had happened to their friend and who had done it, which is the reason they came to Rosso Cadre, where most of the game’s events take place.

Accardi

Accardi is seen being Ryker’s romantic interest in Rosso cadere.

Ryker caught onto feelings during the bar date, where they admitted to finding Accardi attractive, or their love at first sight.

Juliek

Juliek and Ryker have rough interactions, and relationship.

Juliek is seen as rude or snarky (to basically everyone), and he does not like Ryker at all for various reasons. After Accardi confessed to falling in love with Ryker, Juliek mistook it for Accardi falling for him again. Juliek doesn’t want to lose his best friend, or his old lover, which is why he gets jealous.

Ryker does not like Juliek for how he acts.

Leon

Leon is Ryker’s best friend, though Leon is seen as a father figure to Ryker.

Leon and Ryker had a very close bond before Leon died. Leon wasn’t as accepting with being called ‘dad’ or being seen as a father to Ryker due to his struggles with having kids before.

Vittorino

Vittorino and Ryker’s interactions in the game are rough, which goes the same for their relationship.

Vittorino is on edge with Ryker (and hates them) for even coming into the basilica, more so for stealing from his home. Ryker doesn’t like Vittorino at all after their experiences in the basilica that included Vittorino.

Gabriel

Ryker had a neutral relationship with Gabriel while they were working together to try and find the lady in the catacombs. (Susan)

Gabriels thoughts turned on them after Vittorino had said Ryker left him behind in the Basilica, which made Gabriel shocked, and upset.

Beetle

Beetle is Ryker’s guardian angel (who they usually see in their dreams.)

Beetle helps Ryker with their fate and to survive. Beetle is seen as pretty close to Ryker from being their guardian angel, and helping them with finding out the actual cause of Leon’s death.

Ryker is a nervous person, who displays signs/traits of kleptomania which often get them into trouble.[1] Whether it's taking their sister's novels at a young age, or collecting the various in-game items, this has frequently caused them to get into tricky situations. It seems that they are not very conscious of it, or at least do not mean to do so maliciously.

Before the strange events of the game, Ryker seems to be a jovial person, if sometimes a bit down-cast, shy, and stressed. However, their interactions with Leon often show their ability to be cheerful and, at times, silly.

With Accardi, Ryker is often flustered, as the man teases and flirts with them a lot. They are also shown to have a bit of sass and sarcasm in them as well, when interacting with Juliek or Vittorino. Overall, they tend to be more guarded, but can open up to people with a bit of time.
