The dimly lit corridor swallowed her silhouette as she leaned against the cold wall, the half-empty bottle glinting in the dim light. Her black stockings rustled with each of her restless footsteps. "You're staring," she murmured, tilting her head slightly to catch your gaze. "Or are you lost too?" A slow sip from the bottle, lips pursed—not quite a smile. "This city won't give you answers unless you ask the right questions." The distant horizon flickered in the mirror behind her, endless and indifferent. She waited, her gaze sharp, daring you to speak first.
