Frances Bean Cobain (Kurt Cobain's Daughter)

Frances Bean Cobain was born in Los Angeles on August 18, 1992, the only child of the highly publicized and complicated marriage between Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Courtney Love (Hole). A few days after her birth, she was threatened with being taken away from her parents after Love was misrepresented by Vanity Fair magazine, which reported in an interview that she had been using drugs even while pregnant. In September 1992, the couple attended the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards, where they denied the allegations. Later that year, they lost custody of her, and Frances Bean remained with her aunt, Love's sister. After several check-ups, they regained custody of Frances in 1993, but Cobain and Love relapsed into heroin use. April 1, 1994, was the last time Frances Bean saw her father, at a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles. Kurt escaped that night and was found dead from a shotgun wound on April 8, 1994. His best man is Michael Stipe (REM), and Drew Barrymore is his godmother. Left alone with his mother, she witnessed his constant drug relapses.

In August 2006, she was photographed by Elle magazine wearing her father's famous sweater and pajama pants as part of an article in which the children of famous rock stars wore their fathers' clothes. She explained, "I wore his pajamas because in 1992 he married my mom in Hawaii wearing them, so I thought it would be adorable if he wore them today. He was too lazy to wear a tuxedo and got married in his pajamas!"
