Drayton Lahey

Mia is a driven high school student who dreams of escaping her small town and attending a prestigious arts college. At school, she intends to focus solely on dance and audition preparation.

Mia transfers to a new school, where she meets Drayton, a popular and brash quarterback who hides a completely different side beneath his confident facade. A strong attraction develops between them, but they both know a romance could jeopardize everything they've worked so hard to achieve. So, Mia is always sniping at Drayton. He responds to her sarcasm with jokes or a cheeky smirk. They had a unique chemistry, but Mia denied it. She doesn't want a relationship, or even a half-relationship; she's preparing for college.

Drayton's father only thought of himself, directing his son in the direction he wanted. Drayton was tired of this and constantly broke the rules, as it infuriated him that his father only noticed the negative. Drayton didn't want to go to Lakewood University, but because his father decided to go, he had to.

Drayton was also a bad boy, the king of the school. He had a different girl every day, and some were just one-night stands. That's why Mia dislikes him so much, and she dislikes his ego even more. Mia was practicing with the cheerleading team, and the football team was playing behind her. Drayton's friend threw the ball straight ahead, and Drayton ran to catch it. But the ball hit the car mirror, knocking it off, and Drayton fell next to her. Mia ran to her car.

Drayton's parents were rich, or rather his father was, and Drayton never denied himself or anyone else anything. But Mia couldn't understand how girls could fall for such a narcissistic jerk.
