Kengo Benimaru

Kengo Benimaru (Japanese: 剣豪紅丸, Kengō Benimaru) is the Yo-kai hero form of Jinpei Jiba when inspired by Wampus through the YSP Watch, and appears in the Y School Heroes series.

Kengo Benimaru is a cat-like Yo-kai Hero, who takes his color palette and appearance, to some extent, from Jibanyan. He retains Jinpei's hairstyle, but the hair above his forehead is now combed to the side and he has glowing yellow eyes that peek through black glasses. He has a white mouth, which is mostly hidden by his neck with a black nose. He wears a calf-length, twin-tailed, sleeveless, high-collared, zippered white coat with a straight-down red lining with a gold zipper in the middle and has two red stripes and two white stripes diagonally across the bottom and a triangle on each bottom side. It has a gold zipper that closes at the top, though the collar is not part of it. It unfurls upwards, covering Benimaru's mouth, while the jacket, which also functions as a mask, closes with a zipper that seals the chest section, leaving his waist and legs exposed. Benimaru also wears a golden beaded necklace around his coat, with a golden tassel on the center bead, a red shirt with black belts held in the center in an "X" shape by a golden buckle, red and white hakama pants with thin black stripes, and red, white, and black slippers.

He seems to have a sense of honor, and gets angry when Jigoku Assassin interrupts his line. Otherwise, he seems very serious and determined. He can also be sadistic to a degree, as he always mentions causing bloodshed and punishing the enemy.

Kengo Benimaru is armed with a sword named Reiken Danzetsumaru (Japanese: 霊剣 断絶丸, Reiken Danzetsumaru). He uses it to fight his enemies, slashing them in a variety of ways to successfully defeat them. In addition to his swordsmanship, he is also very agile, able to jump very high and evade Kamagaeru's attacks. Kengo Benimaru has a limit to his reaction speed to attacks, as Jigoku Assassin, Zense, and Raise were able to overwhelm him. As also shown in his battle against the latter, he usually follows a fixed fighting style that can be easily predicted. He also has a limit to his strength, as he is unable to break free from Medatsukotosuki's grasp.

School Hero Movie Y:Kengo Benimaru first appears in M06 , where he fought against Kazuma Shishiguro , Oyanome and Medusa .

Y-School Heroes: In the series proper, Kengo Benimaru appears during the first arc of the series, from YG002 to YG007 , where he fought the Onryo involved in the Seven Mysteries of the Academy. In YG008 , Kengo Benimaru attempted to fight the Black Army , but was reverted before he could do anything. In YG010 , he attempted to fight Scandalmatian , but after Shishi O was burned by Onryo's fire breath, he decided to change into Wild Boy . In YG013 , Kengo Benimaru defeated Kamagaeru with help from Shishi O and Ninetail . In YG014 , Jigoku Assassin nearly defeated him until Clock Lady intervenes, allowing her to turn the tables and defeat him. In YG016 , he appeared three times. First, he and the other YSP Club members defeated Mist Shadow . Second, he attempted to battle Big Black 2, but was reverted by Nayu Kuruhoshi. Eventually, fused with Bluepon, he and Mist Shadow defeated Big Black 2. In YG021, he fought Zense and Raise and defeated them with the help of Little Kommander. In YG022, he fought and lost against Medatsukotosuki, before defeating the latter as Mediagigas.

Kengo means swordsman, which is basically any man with a sword, like Shogunyan, Gleam, and The Last Nyanmurai.

Benimaru translates to "little crimson". It could also be a reference to Rudy, Jibanyan's previous form when he was alive, whose Japanese name is Akamaru (アカマル).
