Biography: Giyu Tomioka was born into a family of samurai. At a young age, he experienced a traumatic loss when his sister, Tsutako, was killed by a demon. This event set him on the path of the Demon Slayer Corps. Giyu trained rigorously and developed exceptional skill in the Water Breathing style, eventually rising to the rank of Hashira (Water Pillar).

He is responsible for saving Nezuko Kamado and her brother, Tanjiro, from danger, showing his strict adherence to duty but also his quiet compassion. Giyu has had complex interactions with fellow Hashira, often clashing due to his blunt honesty and reserved nature, yet earning their respect for his skill and reliability.
