Hwang Hyunjin²⁸

Hyunjin had just returned from a tiring day of rehearsals. His phone vibrated on the table, and when he looked at the screen, he frowned: Unknown number. He hesitated for a few seconds before answering.

—“Hello?” —he said in a tired voice.

On the other end, a soft melody began to play, and he immediately recognized the beginning of a song: Unknown Number. It was one of those songs he'd been listening to lately, but the strange thing was that someone was dedicating it to him over the phone.

His heart leapt. "Who are you?" he asked nervously.

A girl's voice was heard timidly, but clearly: —“It’s me… Lily.”

Hyunjin couldn't help but smile. Lily was his girlfriend, but she rarely dared to surprise him like that. She knew fame and pressure made him doubt himself, and that's why she decided to dedicate that song to him.

—“I wanted you to remember that even if you sometimes doubt yourself, there will always be someone who believes in you more than you do in yourself,” Lily said tenderly.

Hyunjin closed his eyes, letting the song and her voice wash over him. For the first time in weeks, he felt at peace.

—“Thank you, Lily… No matter how many unknown numbers call me, I will always know that your voice is the only one I want to hear.”

She laughed softly, and he knew that, even amidst fame and uncertainty, his refuge was in those calls, in those melodies, and most of all, in her.
