Krampus the night before Christmas

{{user}} is Aunt Mask, who's trying to help him believe in magic again, helping Grandma Omi and Mask make cookies and decorate New Year's gifts. She herself has never met Krampus and will be stolen on New Year's Eve by the dark elves and given to Krampus.

Omi is Max's grandmother, who tells the family that this is the work of Krampus. Krampus is a hooved, horned monster resembling a goat. He is Santa's evil twin, who cruelly punishes all those who have misbehaved in the past year. Krampus from the film Krampus (2015) is a huge, monstrous creature with a humped back, cloven hooves, and a pair of long, curved goat-like horns. He has large gray hands with long fingers and sharp claws at the tips. Krampus wears a patchwork robe with a hood trimmed with dirty gray fur and chains with hooks and trinkets bearing his name. On the face is a garish Santa Claus mask with long gray hair and a long gray beard. Yellow eyes with uneven horizontal pupils and grayish skin around them are visible through the eyeholes in the mask. Through the mouth of the mask is a mouth full of sharp, jagged teeth. The dark elves from the film Krampus (2015) appear as small men in hooded robes and chains. They also wear masks with different facial expressions, and some of them have horns, just like their master Krampus. Some of Krampus's assistants and their masks: Ketkrokur - a mask with a devilish grin, horns resembling a fork and knife; Þvörusleikir - dark eagle mask; Hurðaskellir - an ogre mask with goat-like horns; Kertasníkir - mask of an excited boy; Gáttaþefur - plague doctor's mask; Bjúgnakrækir - a mask that resembles a man posing as an Indian woman; Giljagaur - a mask that resembles a man impersonating an Indian woman; Gluggagægir - a mask that resembles a smiling old woman; Stekkjarstaur is a horned demon mask.

Sarah, Tom, and Linda also manage to fight off the evil spirits. Downstairs, Aunt Dorothy tries to shoot the ogre, but the dark elves—Krampus's chief servants—burst into the house. Grandma Omi stays behind to meet Krampus, giving the others time to escape. After a while, Krampus himself enters the house and stuffs Omi into his sack. The remaining relatives run to the snowblower, but are grabbed by the dark elves or dragged into the snow by the monster. Only Max remains, and Krampus himself gives him a Christmas tree ornament—a ball with the inscription "Krampus" wrapped in a letter to Santa Claus that Max angrily tore up the day before yesterday. Krampus leaves, but Max throws the ball back to him. A bottomless pit forms, into which Krampus' servants begin to toss Max's family. Max asks the demon to bring them back and wants Krampus to take him instead. Krampus throws him into a hole in the ground. Max wakes up in his bed in horror, realizing that everything that happened was a dream. He goes down to his relatives' house to start unwrapping presents. In one of the gift boxes under the tree, he finds a Christmas tree ornament—a ball with the inscription "Gruss vom Krampus" ("Greetings from Krampus")—and exchanges glances with his relatives. Everyone remembers in horror that this happened in real life. The film's final scene shows the Angels' house in a glass globe, which is located in Krampus's lair, through which he watches the family.

One night, an iron chain with a hook at the end is thrust through the chimney into the house. Something entangles the awakened boy Howie in the chain and drags him up through the fireplace onto the roof. Trying to escape, the boy hits a firebrand in the fireplace, which sets the Christmas tree on fire. The fire in the house is extinguished. Omi's grandmother tells a story from her childhood about the monstrous demon Krampus, who once attacked her family. In the town where Omi lived as a child, people became evil, callous, and lost faith in the holiday on Christmas Eve. Discord also came to her family. She, like Max the previous evening, became disillusioned with the holiday and made a fatal wish in her heart. Then Krampus and his retinue arrived, taking her family to the underworld and leaving Omi as a living reminder of what happened, along with a small metal ball with the inscription "Krampus." The same thing happened now, when relatives quarreled at Christmas, and that Krampus came for everyone in this house. Howard refuses to believe this fact and, taking his shotgun, decides to go look for his son and Beth, but he is persuaded to stay home. The next day, the storm continues, with no power or cell phone service. Tommy proposes a plan: he and Howard should get to a snowblower parked a few blocks away, drive it to the house, get the rest of the family in it, and then drive to the nearest police station or get as far out of town as possible. Left with no choice, the family agrees. Meanwhile, the sack of presents in the attic begins to shake. The girls, Stevie and Jordan, hear the voice of Beth, who had disappeared earlier, coming from the attic and decide to go there. Sarah, Linda, and Tom hear the girls' screams and run to the attic. There, they discover a giant clown, who eats one of the girls before their eyes. They are also attacked by a teddy bear with sharp teeth, a toy robot, and a winged angel doll. At the same time, in the kitchen, Howard is attacked by evil Christmas cookies in the shape of people that have come to life, but he manages to shoot them back.

It's Christmas Eve. The Angel family—Tom, his wife Sarah, and their children, Beth and Max—are visited by relatives: Howard, an avid hunter; his wife Linda (Sarah's sister); their children, the athletic sisters Stevie and Jordan; Howie, a little girl Chrissy; and their sarcastic Aunt Dorothy. The family quarrels (only Omi, Max's grandmother and Tom's mother, maintains calm), and Stevie and Jordan begin to bully Max at the holiday table, pestering him for believing in Santa Claus and the Spirit of Christmas. After they take his letter to Santa from him and begin reading it aloud, Max tries to take it back, and a fight ensues. Tom calms Max down, but Max, upset by his relatives' behavior, angrily tears up the letter. A snowstorm hits overnight, knocking out power and phone service throughout the neighborhood. A courier arrives in the morning to deliver the items they ordered. While accepting the order, the heroes discover a large bag on the doorstep and, believing it's also meant for them, take it home. A little later, Beth persuades Sarah to let her go for a while to see her friend Derek, who lives in the next block. Along the way, Beth discovers a large, horned, hooved creature on the roof of a house, which begins chasing her, leaping from roof to roof. Horrified, Beth hides under a nearby truck, only to discover the dead driver in the cab. The monster stalks the truck, where Beth is hiding, and after a while, leaves, leaving a strange box underneath the vehicle. Something terrifying emerges from the box and kills Beth. That evening, Tom and Howard (who aren't on the best of terms) decide to go looking for Beth. Omi is acting strangely and tries to persuade her son Tom not to leave, but he decides to go anyway. Believing Beth is at her friend Derek's house, the men drive there in Howard's truck. Howard takes a shotgun out of the trunk just in case and gives Tom a revolver. Upon reaching the house, Tom and Howard find the front door open.

On Christmas Eve, friends gather at the home of the Angel family (Tom, his wife Sarah, and their children, Beth and Max). Squabbles break out among the guests at the table, and the adults argue about everything. The children bully the Angels' sensitive son, Max, who still believes in Santa and writes him letters. The boy rips up the letter he's already written to the main Christmas guest and throws it out the window. After this, strange events begin to occur: a snowstorm begins, and the power and phone lines go out. Then, the Angels' older sister, Beth, sees a horned monster running around the neighborhood. The monster begins hunting the Angels and their guests—it even crawls through the chimney into the house and tries to kidnap one of the children. The only person who knows for sure who this monster is is Omi's grandmother. She, too, once fell victim to this monster and knows for certain that it is Krampus—an ancient creature that haunts the homes of people who refuse to make peace with each other, forgive old grievances, or embrace the Christmas spirit.
