Fun facts about Tsukasa
One of the great mysteries surrounding Tsukasa is the fan rumors that he might be immortal or someone with a very long lifespan. Several scenes in both the manga and anime point to this: She was relatively unharmed (except for a quickly healed head cut) even after being hit while trying to save Nasa from a moving truck. She easily recovered from the accident, despite the truck driver's comment that she took the brunt of the blow. Note that in that same accident, Nasa was admitted to a hospital. When Chitose mentioned the past, Tsukasa was already 16 years old.

No, she's panicking inside. The silence in the room continues to expand, and they're practically at their limit. Who will be the bravest to utter the fateful word known as "bath"? Nasa! He takes the initiative: "Let's bathe together," he murmurs in a whisper. The silence, gone for only a second, continues to spread again until Tsukasa timidly begins to speak, and... it's a yes! Just one request: "Can you go in first?"
more history :
The honeymoon of the two newlyweds can now begin. And so, Tsukasa and Nasa are on their (second) honeymoon in a hot spring town, and while the husband is super calm, the little wife is freaking out. They're all alone, and the thought of something happening between them is stressing her out (yes, that something). Anyway, they decide to split up and go to the public bathhouse for an hour and then to the hot spring town together. To Tsukasa's surprise, he comes back with an old woman: Tokiko Tsukuyomi, Tsukasa's great-aunt. But what is she doing here? Is she going to test whether Nasa is a good husband or not? Apparently, she's there just to waste time and get to know Nasa. Tokiko was wondering what kind of guy her "little ice queen" fell in love with. And so, after a rather relaxed conversation, she leaves them alone with a nice pearl for Nasa. The next day, after the Tsukasa-yukata combo nearly gives Nasa a heart attack while peacefully sightseeing, some playful banter erupts until a more serious discussion arises: "What is your relationship with Tokiko-san?" Nasa asks; Tsukasa and Tokiko are not related by blood even though she is very close to Tsukasa. But after all, Tsukasa thinks Tokiko is happy. Why? Because, as she says, she found a wonderful husband. Serious things aside, the stroll through the hot spring town continues until nightfall and something unexpected happens. It's nighttime, dinner is over, and a hot bath awaits them, yes. Wait. Meanwhile, Tsukasa is calm and looks at the moon from her room. No, she's panicking inside.
more history :
Outside, however, Enishi is still unable to draw the sword from its scabbard, so Tsukasa decides to take it herself and unsheathes the sword with practiced ease, much to Enishi's surprise. Later, Nasa and Tsukasa finally get around to sightseeing, and Tsukasa decides that visiting historical sites with Nasa will make them more interesting. They visit the Nara Buddha and Houryuuji, taking photographs at each. After visiting the site where the Heijoukyo ruins once stood, Tsukasa begins to talk about how 1,300 years ago so many people actually lived there going about their daily lives. She quickly pushes this aside, and they decide to film a funny video instead. They later said goodbye to Nasa's parents as they headed back to Tokyo. However, upon returning to their apartment, they found it had burned to the ground. Honeymoon Kaname's mother has returned from her spiritual journey abroad. Apparently, she went through an unstable period because her husband eloped with a younger girl and thus abandoned and left her two daughters alone for an extended period. How can she make up for his long absence? With a gift! But, she spoiled even that. In fact, she's given her daughters two tickets to a hot spring, but Aya must study for her exams and Kaname can't leave the bathhouse. Conclusion? Our favorite couple now has a pair of tickets to their first (real) honeymoon. Plus, they'll be completely alone without any meddling from Chitose, who got the news of their honeymoon from her maids but decided to leave them alone anyway.
more history :
Tsukasa and Nasa then talk about how the room they're in used to be his and that even though his place in Tokyo doesn't have much either, he keeps everything important in a safe, on his cloud computer, and on his person so they don't have anything to worry about. As they get ready for bed, Kanoka tells Nasa that they put an extra futon for Tsukasa and warns him not to get "too carried away" as they'll be sleeping in the next room. As they go to sleep, Nasa asks Tsukasa if she'd like an arm pillow. She obliges, but this doesn't last long as her arm starts to go numb. Nasa then asks her for a goodnight kiss, to which Tsukasa agrees, albeit in a very embarrassing manner. The next morning, after waking up and going outside, Tsukasa runs into Enishi, who is having trouble deciding what to talk about with just the two of them. Tsukasa then mentions that he is an archaeologist, which Nasa had told him before. Upon hearing this, Enishi excitedly takes her to his study. There, she surprises him by being able to read a book that he had supposedly never been able to understand before. Nasa soon arrives at the study and is surprised to see Tsukasa there due to her seeming aversion to historical things. She quickly denies this due to not wanting to disappoint Enishi. Nasa then notices a Japanese sword on display and asks her father if he can take it out for them. This surprises Enishi, who has never taken it out himself before but, because he wants her respect, agrees to do so.

They finally arrive at Nasa's parents' house, both of them very nervous about finally meeting them. Nasa's mother, Kanoka, starts to open the door, but is too nervous to finally see her son's wife and quickly goes back inside. Nasa manages to convince her to meet Tsukasa and asks where her father is, to which Kanoka replies that he is in the living room and hasn't moved since morning. Everyone goes inside, and Tsukasa is introduced to Nasa's father, Enishi. After an awkward silence, Enishi asks Nasa if she would like to go take a bath, but Nasa is wary of leaving Tsukasa alone with her parents so soon. She tells him it's fine if they want to talk to her, so he leaves, still sounding a little unsure. After Nasa leaves the room, Enishi suddenly bows down before Tsukasa and thanks him for saving his life. He goes on to say how proud he and Kanoka are of raising such a good son despite their own faults, and if he decides to marry the person who saved his life, they have nothing more to give but good news and good luck. Enishi ends by asking that he take care of Nasa from now on. Tsukasa thanks him for his kind words and asks that they also take care of her from now on.
more history :
Back on the bus, Nasa wonders what Chitose said, but Tsukasa reassures him that it's natural for some people to oppose their marriage, and she wonders if her parents would be the same. He tells her he's confident he can convince them. They arrive in Kyoto, with Nasa excited about the potential for sightseeing there after visiting his parents in Nara. But Tsukasa's suggestions of going to a bakery or the manga museum deflate his enthusiasm, and he asks if she isn't interested in seeing the historical landmarks. After seeing Nasa's disappointment, he agrees to see them. After Tsukasa changes into a kimono, Chitose appears again, intent on ruining his marriage. Nasa suggests that he and she talk about marriage together. She agrees to this with her two maids, taking Tsukasa with them. While eating at a cafe, Charlotte asks Tsukasa what she likes about Nasa. She responds by saying that he is just cute and that after hearing him talk about himself and other people, she realized how kind he is. Tsukasa then reunites with Nasa, who had finished talking to Chitose. She asks him whether he had made her accept or not, but he says that he doesn't know and that she had returned to Tokyo. The two then head to see Nasa's parents in Nara.
more history :
Journey to Nara The days pass peacefully with Nasa and Tsukasa enjoying their married life together and finally getting a pair of rings for themselves. One day, while talking about buying a new place to stay and how they would need a guarantor, Nasa suddenly remembers that he hasn't told his parents about his marriage. After calling to inform them of this, Tsukasa decides he would like to meet Nasa's parents, but is hesitant to introduce them due to how awkward they can be. However, Nasa's mother texts him saying that if they don't come visit, she won't be their guarantor. At this, Nasa relents, and the two decide to go to Nara to visit his parents. They also decide to get a camera for the trip and their daily lives to make their own secret wedding diary. The two take an overnight bus to Nara. They stop at a service area so they can use their time there to get something to eat. As Tsukasa waits for Nasa to return from using the bathroom, Chitose appears asking her what she's doing acting like a normal girl. Tsukasa tells her that she's making too much of this since the day they met when she was sixteen; a normal girl. Before Chitose can argue her point and just as Nasa returns, an idol appears in the food court area, causing Tsukasa to panic at being caught in a delicate situation. They decide to leave with Chitose yelling behind them, asking Tsukasa why she's getting married.
more history :
Tsukasa manages to reach Chitose's mansion and finds Nasa in one of its rooms with an indecent-looking picture of him and one of Chitose's maids. She takes it, commenting on how "nice" he looks, much to Nasa's shock. Chitose tells him to get a divorce because of how terrible Nasa is. She seems to agree with this, telling him to follow her so they can talk it out. Once they leave the room, Tsukasa reveals that she was only pretending so they could escape and that she knew the picture was edited. She also says that if she were really mad at him, things would be much worse. Once they hear Chitose calling for them, they run away. They soon find themselves at an old church on top of a hill, and Tsukasa says that it was prepared as an escape route. She also tells Nasa that she wanted to show it to him because it is a truly wonderful place. Nasa then begins to tell her that if something good happens to him, she'll be the first to know; if something bad happens to him, he'll bear the burden with her, they'll share everything, they'll support each other, and that he doesn't want her to ever regret choosing him as her husband. Nasa says that's the kind of couple he wants them to be. Tsukasa notes how all of that sounded like a proposal, to which he replies that it was before kissing her and swearing to give her his eternal love.
More history:
She ends up telling him to go home and tell his great-aunt that she's now married. Chitose is completely baffled by this, but Tsukasa ignores her outbursts and tells her to leave. Later, Tsukasa goes out after hearing that Nasa is back and sees him with Chitose. Seeing the two casually talking to each other and how Tsukasa called Nasa "dear", Chitose becomes very angry and realizes that Nasa is Tsukasa's husband. Tsukasa tells Nasa who Chitose Kaginoji is; a girl who was taken in by his family. Nasa casually introduces himself to her and starts a conversation despite Chitose's protests. She states that she will not accept him as a partner in Tsukasa's marriage. Surprisingly, he shows good communication skills by saying that she is not wrong to think that, due to how sudden it all was. He suggests that they go and have a good talk about it, but Tsukasa tells him that Chitose will never accept that. Proving herself right, Chitose calls a limousine and proceeds to kidnap Nasa. Tsukasa manages to reach Chitose's mansion and finds Nasa in one of her rooms with an indecent-looking picture of him and one of Chitose's maids. more history :
After the bath, Tsukasa and Aya meet up with Nasa. Tsukasa is told how Nasa helped support the Arisugawa family and their business after they fell on hard times. She seems disappointed to hear how grateful Aya is to Nasa, but he fails to notice this. The two leave the bathhouse and head back home. Tsukasa remarks how cute Aya seems to be, with Nasa completely agreeing with her and unaware of her poor choice of words. While watching a church wedding, Nasa asks if she's worried about it (no ceremony or rings), but she assumes he's talking about Aya and has the totally wrong idea. Tsukasa says she wants him to say she's cute too, but he still misunderstands. After some back and forth, he decides he can't say it right now and leaves to check something out, telling her to go back home and wait for him. Chitose Kaginoji TNK 12 Tsukasa returns to the apartment on his own and begins to wait for Nasa to return. He decides to clean the place, but unfortunately, he finds it spotless, and he doesn't want to risk seeing what kind of "secret" things he might have hidden. Soon, the doorbell rings, and Tsukasa, who assumes it's Nasa, goes to answer it, only to be greeted by a young woman named Chitose. She refers to Tsukasa as her "sister" and says that the place she's staying in doesn't suit her.
Tonikawa-review-ep-03 Before she can finish, Tsukasa closes the door in her face and ignores her. Chitose begs her to open the door because she came looking for her because her great-aunt was worried. Tsukasa realizes that Chitose must have forced her great-aunt to reveal her location and left without permission.
More history:
The two head out and after buying some lotion and other items for Tsukasa, they arrive at the bathhouse. Here they meet Nasa's friend from middle school, Arisugawa Kaname, who helps run the bathhouse. She is completely shocked by the fact that Nasa brought a girl with him, as she thought he had no interest in them. She asks if they are dating, but instead, Nasa tells her that the two are married, which shocks her even more. After congratulating them (albeit still a little unsure), Kaname invites Tsukasa to take a bath. Nasa also tries to enter, but Kaname stops him and demands an explanation of what is going on. After a while, Tsukasa goes outside to get her things, just in time to hear Nasa loudly declare his love for her, embarrassing them both. She takes his things from him and says that although she is embarrassed when he says that in front of other people, it also makes her very happy. Once she checks that no one else is around, Tsukasa begins to enjoy her bath. Soon, another girl appears in the bathroom with her; she introduces herself to her as the eldest daughter of the bathhouse. She apologizes for watching Tsukasa while she was bathing and asks if she would like her back cleaned to make it up to him. After some persuasion, he accepts her offer. The girl comments on how beautiful Tsukasa's skin is, comparing it to silk, but then decides to compare it to an iPhone X for reasons unknown to Tsukasa. The girl then gives her name as Arisugawa Aya and Tsukasa introduces herself as Yuzaki Tsukasa, with Aya assuming she is Nasa's little sister.
More history:
Tsukasa asks if they take baths, but Nasa says no, telling her that he goes to a bathhouse every morning. Before going to sleep, the two go out again to buy more sleeping supplies. Eventually, they both begin to settle in for sleep, with Tsukasa thanking her for keeping her company and Nasa saying that he kept his promise to her since they first met. Throughout the night, Tsukasa tosses and turns in bed, keeping Nasa awake. She eventually gets up to get a drink, and upon returning to her futon, she falls asleep on top of her bed, throwing off her covers as she slides down to ground level. The Arisugawa Bathhouse The next morning, after getting up and changing, Tsukasa begins preparing breakfast. Curious to see what kind of food a bachelor eats, she takes a look at Nasa's refrigerator and is surprised to see a reasonable amount of things. He tells her that he studied dietetics and thought the "best" meal for him was hot pot every day. Unimpressed by this, Tsukasa tells him to wait while she prepares the meal. After ten minutes, they sit down to eat, with Nasa completely amazed by the amazing food she prepared. While eating, Tsukasa tells him that she realized he still calls her Tsukasa-san, even though they are a married couple. They decide to give each other nicknames, with Tsukasa calling him Nasa-kun and Nasa calling her Tsukasita, much to her embarrassment. Once they finish eating, they decide to head to the bathhouse later. The two head out and after buying some lotion and other items for Tsukasa, they arrive at the bathhouse. Here they meet Nasa's friend from middle school: Arisugawa Kaname, who helps run the bathhouse. More history:
First night Tsukasa soon returns to the apartment where he finds Nasa trying to find a way for the two of them to sleep together in one bed. He asks her what she had to do, and she tells him she went to get her luggage from a coin locker. Nasa wonders if her family is worried about her being out so late, but she says she's homeless now. Hearing this, he decides having a futon is fine and that he can sleep on the floor, but Tsukasa suggests he stay in a hotel for the night. Nasa seems unsure about the idea until she tells him that since she's his wife, she won't be going anywhere. She then asks why she married him. Instead of answering his question, Tsukasa asks Nasa why he married her, to which he replies that it was because he likes her. She tells him that she would never marry someone she didn't fall in love with. Nasa tries to ask her when she fell in love with him, but she says it's a secret, much to his annoyance.
As Tsukasa starts to leave, Nasa tells her they can buy a second futon so she doesn't have to go. She agrees to this as long as they can try out a memory foam one. They visit a store to buy one, with Tsukasa asking Nasa if this will be his first gift to her, to which he replies yes. After arriving at the apartment, she lies down on the new futon to try it out, which causes her much embarrassment.
More history:
Two years later, Tsukasa finds Nasa's place and goes to see him. She introduces herself and calls him her husband. After some uncertainty, Nasa lets her into his apartment. As they sit at the table, Tsukasa presents a marriage form, reminding her how he had agreed to marry her. Nasa ponders this before deciding to fill out the form. Once finished, he hands the form to her, and Tsukasa looks at it while saying how nice "Yuzaki Tsukasa" sounds. He then proceeds to tell Nasa that even if they are both nervous about doing this, he can say that he has a good eye for people and has never lied before. Tsukasa also says that she completely trusts him and asks him to look after her if he thinks she's worth it. Nasa responds by asking her to look after him as well before the two go out to legitimize their form of marriage. As they head to the office where they can legitimize their marriage, Tsukasa muses on how nice her new name sounds and asks Nasa what he thinks. He says it's much better than his own, which is written as Hoshizora, but is actually Nasa. He then begins to tell her about NASA's history and efforts and how they were finally able to land a man on the moon. Tsukasa ends by telling Nasa that his name is truly beautiful. They soon finalize their marriage, and also get a commemorative potted plant. Now that they are a married couple, Tsukasa suggests trying holding hands. Nasa gets so flustered by this that he ends up calling the marriage a lifetime hand-holding buffet, which Tsukasa ends up overhearing. He then asks her to take the plant home as she has something she needs to finish, before asking him if he has two futons at his house, to which he replies that he only has one.
History :
One day, while walking through the snow, Tsukasa noticed a boy across the road looking at her. However, as he started to cross towards her, a pickup truck came speeding towards him. Just as it was about to collide with it, she ran forward and took the brunt of the blow, protecting the boy. Tsukasa tells the truck driver to take the boy to the hospital despite his own injuries. The boy tries to approach her, but she says he should forget about her and lets him. Later, while reading at a bus stop, she suddenly appears, thanking him and introducing herself as Yuzaki Nasa. Tsukasa is quite surprised that he followed her despite his condition, but tells him to sit with her while she wipes off his blood and gives him her scarf. He then decides to seek proper help for himself as his injuries worsen. As he begins to leave, Nasa tells him that he thought she resembled Kaguya and that the emperor and the old man from their story should have tried to prevent her from returning to the moon. He then confesses his feelings for her and asks her to go out with him. After some thought, Tsukasa tells him that if he marries her, she will agree to go out with him. Nasa replies that she will, before fainting.
Tsukasa's Background:
It all goes back to the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter and the final event of the story. Before Kaguya is forced to return to the moon, she leaves a jar containing the Elixir of Hourai, also known as the elixir of immortality, for the emperor to drink so they can one day be reunited. A faithful servant burns the bottle containing the elixir at the highest point in Japan (which is known today as Mount Fuji). However, the servant had a daughter he truly loved and cared for who was about to die, so to save her life despite the hardships she would have to endure, he made her drink the elixir... and that daughter is Tsukasa. Afterward, nothing is known about the next 1,400 years. The only event that has been shown is when she and Chitose were climbing a cliff and Tsukasa took her hand, telling her to take heart and not be afraid.
Main Features of Tsukasa:
At first, Tsukasa appears to act very calm and level-headed, seemingly unsurprised by her husband's rash and illogical actions. Despite this, she agreed to marry Nasa and loves him very much. As they get to know each other, she begins to show more emotion than just acting calm; she is easily embarrassed whenever Nasa proclaims his love for her and how cute she is. Tsukasa also seems to get jealous at times, such as when Nasa talked about how cute Aya was. While she acts indifferent towards Chitose (despite his family taking her in), she eventually develops a sympathetic relationship with Kaname Arisugawa.
Tsukasa has a great love for movies, games, and pop culture in general, so much so that she was quite saddened by the fact that Nasa's apartment didn't have a television. She also seems to have a wide range of knowledge about aspects of Japanese history. This includes how to properly handle a katana and information about various locations and landmarks. Tsukasa talks about things as if she's experienced them herself, but never elaborates. She also seems to have some connection to the moon, as her great-aunt, Tokiko, borrowed a moonstone to help "relieve" her. She is immortal and is trying to return to being a normal human.
Tsukasa's final appearance:
Appearance Often described as beautiful, Tsukasa has long pink hair with a clip in the back and red eyes. She mostly wears elegant clothes and a skirt. While at home, she is usually seen wearing modern clothing. During the trip to Kyoto, she wore a floral yukata.
