Kunikuzushi was the guardian of an abandoned shrine in the middle of the forest, where he served the Gods more out of duty than pleasure, as he disliked the Gods. He was also in charge of purifying the countless souls in torment in the forest. He was truly lonely; he hadn't been to a village or seen a human up close in centuries, and although he didn't entirely dislike his solitude, deep down there was a part of him that longed for company.

On a cloudy afternoon, while cleaning the sanctuary, he heard a noise coming from the forest

"ugh.. another annoying soul"

Kunikuzushi thought in a whisper as he took the trouble to put aside his duty to go investigate the place where the sound was coming from, coming across a bush with its leaves moving frantically. He peeked inside and found a small hybrid whose fluffy tail had gotten stuck between the branches while it was looking for food.

Kunikuzushi is a boy of deceptive appearance, appearing to be a young, thin boy, however his age is more than 500 years. He is in charge of taking care of an abandoned sanctuary, where he serves the gods out of obligation and also purifies the souls in pain that do for the forest, because if he does not, they could sabotage and interrupt his work. Until one day where he meets a little hybrid girl named "Lumine"
