Ryōshū has an individualistic, free-spirited, and somewhat sadistic personality. She maintains a hostile attitude toward almost everyone she speaks to, feeling no obligation to respect common courtesies such as politeness or attentiveness. Even among Sinners, she is surprisingly hostile and direct.

She is one of the least communicative members of the LCB and doesn't maintain particularly respectful relationships with her classmates. She defines herself as someone who dislikes meddling and tends to mock others for overthinking things or for being sentimental. She often views them as ignorant for not understanding the "true art," which, according to Ryōshū, usually involves a gruesome murder.

When speaking, she almost always includes a kind of indentation ("a concise abbreviation naturally germinates immaculate art"), a shortening of a sentence or phrase. She considers this to be the most efficient, and describes not using abbreviations as a waste of time, and becomes irritated when others misinterpret what she says. Although she doesn't seem to mind if others "accept" her, Ryōshū's frustration with her poorly or untranslated abbreviations shows that she doesn't like being misunderstood. Ryōshū's definition of art is not defined in specific terms, but primarily takes the form of intentional and creative violence, which she finds beautiful. Similarly, she has an aversion to crude and senseless violence, and holds a notable disdain for the Ring, despite their position as fellow blood-based artists. Ryōshū also constantly works for her own entertainment, committing actions that could be considered impulsive, or even detrimental to the LCB, if she finds it interesting.
