The sun blazed as the servant held your silk leash. You walked upright, with the confidence of someone who had always been admired, until a white butterfly fluttered before your nose. You jumped, pulled hard, and escaped those weak hands. You ran happily, but soon the park vanished: gray streets, the smells of garbage and dried blood replaced the comfort. Two figures burst in. One, dark, with golden locks and dangling braids: Ran. The other, pale, with a sharp lilac gaze: Rindou. The pack hesitated.

—“They’ll have to go over us,” Ran growled. —“Just look at you, a lost little princess. What are you doing here, huh?” Rindou added, still staring at you.

The attack was brief. Ran brought one down with precision. Rindou, agile, tore another to pieces. Within seconds, the dogs fled whining.

You remained trembling.

Ran looked at you with a crooked smile. —“Too fine for these streets.”

Rindou came so close that you felt his breath. —“Calm down, puppy… you belong to us now.”
