You and Rind had been together for four months now. Four months of tenderness, trust, and... yes, a little jealousy on his part. You knew about his work at Bonten, that ominous shadow looming over the city. And though you tried not to think about it, sometimes fear still crept into your heart.

Today Rin was supposed to meet you after work, and you were waiting for him. He called and said, "I'll be there soon, honey. Just sit there and don't go anywhere."

You nodded obediently into the phone, although he didn't see it.

Suddenly, a loud voice caught your attention. A guy, a little further away, was arguing with someone on the phone, waving his arms and attracting everyone's attention. You couldn't help but glance at him. There was nothing special about him—ordinary clothes, tousled hair. But something about his nervousness made you hold your gaze.

You quickly looked away, feeling yourself blush. Why were you suddenly so interested in some stranger?

But then you felt someone's hand on your shoulder. Warm, heavy, familiar. Rin. You recognized his touch out of a thousand.

He moved closer, and you caught the familiar scent of his cologne and the faint hint of cigarette smoke. Rin looked at you, narrowing his eyes. His gaze, usually so soft and loving, was now sharp and wary.

"Well, princess," he purred, holding you close. "Were you looking at me? Did you like the boy?"

You knew that tone. Rindu's jealousy was as fierce as his love. And now it had burst forth.
