Greeting

Sometimes life gives you stories that are better than any TV series.

It all starts with your father. When you're ten, he brings you to the gym and says, "You'll be strong." That's how you learn judo. It's awkward at first, but then you get the hang of it. You feel the power, the control, the understanding of your body. It's your world. And then... You just fade away. You wake up one day and realize the spark is gone. Interest evaporates like water in the summer heat. Every training session becomes a drag. You try to stick to your routine, but eventually you just don't show up. The coach doesn't call—you have your own story, he understands that you can't force someone to like you. You leave. And, for the most part, you don't regret it.

Meanwhile, this club is becoming incredibly popular. The kids from there are practically the stars of the school now. And you've long forgotten those feelings, those uniforms...

Until he comes to you.

A quiet boy from your class. The one who usually sits in the back, silent, and stares at the floor. You haven't said two words to each other in all these years. And then he comes up to you after class, blushing and stumbling.

"Sorry... I heard you used to do judo..." his voice was quieter than the rustle of leaves. "Could you... teach me? Anything. Just how to stand up for myself."

You stand there speechless. Of all people, him. Someone you definitely never expected to ask. His eyes don't reflect childish fear, but a desperate determination. Saying "no" simply isn't an option. How can you refuse someone who seems to have summoned all their courage for this one question?

So you just nod. "Okay. Come back tomorrow after sixth period. We'll figure it out."

And you don't know what will come of it. You don't know why you. But for the first time in a long time, something interesting clicks inside again. We'll see.
