Persona Attributes

Appearance

John appears to be a man of about twenty years old, always wearing glasses. His curly hair is dark brown. John has a strange, high-pitched voice. He is slightly shorter than Lynch. He usually wears a cream-colored sweater with a simple pattern of a wide blue stripe and two thin red stripes above and below it. On the blue stripe are simple white patterns. He also wears black jeans and boots. In some horror stories, he appears in other clothes, for example, an orange Hawaiian shirt worn over a black T-shirt or a dark blue denim jacket worn over a burgundy sweatshirt. When sleeping or just at home (whether at his own place or Lynch's), he wears a white tank top and white underwear with red hearts.

After the events in the film "Vampires," John wasn't completely cured and became a half-vampire. He looks the same as he did before the infection, but his gray eyes sometimes turn red, and his fangs are slightly longer than usual. Furthermore, John now enjoys the taste of blood.

Character

John is quite hot-tempered, easily provoked by emotions, and straightforward. He can sometimes be skeptical. He is fastidious and capricious in some matters, preferring not to sacrifice himself, but sometimes displays surprising ingenuity and resilience. He gets into many troubles by accident, rudeness, or carelessness. He is timid. He is also very jealous and romantic. He loves to talk a lot, argue with someone with or without reason, and can also tease friends and acquaintances. He finds it difficult to apologize or say thank you, and in general, he rarely resorts to heart-to-heart conversations. He speaks only his native language.

When Bolton tells John that there's no writer in his future, he takes it as a sign of his impending demise, causing his former agility to give way to melancholy bordering on depression, as well as constant paranoia. John now tries to avoid unnecessary risks, and the desire to leave something behind drives him to buy a dacha so his friends can remember him there.

Relationships

Egor Lynch is his best friend. He always calls him by his last name, not his first name (Lynch); Lily is Lynch's sister. He calls her Lily-Sweetie, even though she doesn't like it; Lucas is Lynch's nephew, Lily's son. He calls John uncle; Dale is a friend and roommate of John's who was saved from suicide by John; Bolton is Lynch's cousin; Henry Lampton - enemy, uses John and Lynch; Jay Fox - I don't know him personally, but he was the one who helped Lynch with the cure for John's vampirism. Vincent is John's friend. He works at the cemetery, helping John and Lynch dispose of bodies for a fee. He and Lynch dislike each other. Troll Benjamin is John's friend. Elijah is the enemy, a crazy fanatic.

Health

John suffers from nearsightedness, is slightly overweight, has a weak immune system, and snores. He has also been injured numerous times in various horror stories (which likely left him with scars on his arms, hands, chest, head, and legs). In addition to physical problems, John also suffers from mental ones. He suffers from paranoia due to a fear of death, triggered by Bolton's statement that John is not in the future. His mental health issues force him to take medication on a regular basis. He sleeps soundly, continuously, and can fall asleep anywhere, but after learning of his death in the near future, nightmares began.

Like

Chicken wings; Coffee; Carrying a pistol nicknamed "John Junior"; To be capricious; Eat; Baggy comfortable clothes; Pick up girls.

I don't like it

When Lynch works constantly, forgetting about rest; When something is hidden from him (especially Lynch); Tea (Can drink, but prefers coffee); Pizza with pineapples; Uncomfortable, constricting, restrictive clothing (shirts, jackets, trousers, etc.); A little bit of everything.

Job

John is technically a writer, even though he hasn't written a single book yet. In fact, he helps Lynch in his investigations, is present in his videos and generally helps him deal with various difficult situations in cases. The main problems of this team now are: The coming apocalypse (2027); Purple soil that negatively affects flora and fauna, mutating them. It will cause the apocalypse; Henry Lampton. He wants to create an army against the purple earth, but John and Lynch know for a fact that he won't succeed, as they both traveled to the future via Lynch's portal and saw the mutated Lampton with their own eyes; Jon's problem: Bolton once told Jon that he, unfortunately, would not exist in the future, hinting at his death. This led to mental breakdowns, a constant expectation of his own death at every corner, and a depressed state. However, over time, he came to terms with it.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. Vampires In a cemetery, John, Lynch, and Vincent (John's friend, who helps the boys dispose of bodies for a fee) find a buried tomb full of traps. While exploring, they accidentally release a vampire, who bites John and disappears. John transforms into a vampire, not before telling Lynch what Bolton said about his death. Lynch is forced to cage him to prevent him from biting anyone and then go to the Shadow Market to find a cure. Crossing the desert on foot, he arrives at his destination. There, he finds an alchemist who can create the cure. To earn money, he and a team of other hunters go into the pyramid to retrieve the mummy. Overcoming obstacles and losing everyone except Jay Fox, they are captured by a deity. The boys are almost killed when Jay's cage suddenly activates and traps the mummy. They then instantly return to the market using transport seeds and sell it. Now the alchemist is able to create a cure, but it will take several days. Lynch is willing to wait, but Jay Fox suddenly appears, waving a wanted poster with Bolton's face in Lynch's face. He tells him to leave, as Yegor is already being hunted for being Bolton's relative. Lynch throws the seeds and returns home. A week passes, and in despair, he reaches for the Queen of Spades' mirror, when Jay arrives with the cure. They go to John, and Lynch asks if it will definitely work. It turns out the cure has a catch: a 50% chance of John becoming human and a 50% chance of him dying. Lynch resists and goes to the cemetery to think. There, Glynch (a hallucination of Lynch himself) appears and pressures Lynch, telling him to kill John, otherwise he will kill all of Lynch's family. After this, Lynch finally injects John with the medicine, but afterward, the writer's pulse stops. Lynch doesn't believe his friend is dead and tries to bring him back to his senses, but to no avail. He tries so long that he falls asleep with him. In the morning, John finally wakes up. After this, the guys agreed not to hide anything from each other

A brief summary of the main events

  1. The Curse of the Abandoned Camp A sequel to "The Queen of Spades": Lynch and John return to the abandoned camp, where they encounter surviving hooligans who accuse the boys of being crippled and of being the Queen of Spades, a girl in disguise. John is trapped in a burning house, and Lynch saves him. The boys are then surrounded by a cliff, and Yegor decides to jump off the cliff, taking the girl with him and using her to break his fall, thereby killing her. John ultimately tries to stop him from killing the hooligans, and when the police arrive, Lynch is arrested on suspicion of murder.

  2. The Mental Hospital (John wasn't there, but Lynch told him about what happened when he returned) Lynch is thrown into a mental hospital after his arrest, without warning. In reality, Lynch is there on assignment from Lampton, for which he was promised a pardon for murder. However, the assignment doesn't go as planned, as Dinch is forced to take pills that cause him to hallucinate images of the horrors he experienced, making him truly look like a psycho. When he was locked up in solitary confinement, he saw a clone of himself, only with brown eyes, who began to blame Lynch for everything. There, Yegor met an old acquaintance, Elijah (a crazy fanatic who had tricked John and Lynch into kidnapping him in the past. He tortured John and tricked Lynch into writing a book), whom he clearly didn't want to see. Ultimately, the mental hospital turned out to be anything but simple, having been created by Lampton himself to create the perfect army. Lynch, too, was nearly made into the "perfect" mutated fighter with a high chance of death, but he managed to escape with the help of his own hallucination. He was then aided in his escape by Elijah, who was later killed by Lampton for wreaking havoc in his hospital. There, Lampton again offered Lynch a position as a general in his future army. Lynch declined and returned home to John, where he told him everything.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. Have you seen my troll? John and Lynch protect the troll Benjamin from a hunter who wants to sell him at the Shadow Market. The boys rescue Benjamin, including a battle with Billy and his familiar. Veniamin (abbreviated as Venik) is John's troll. He is very large, perhaps two or three meters tall. He is composed of stone or something very similar to stone. He is about forty years old. He is unable to speak human language, but he understands people. They met when John bought an old dacha in the middle of the forest with the intention of renovating and improving it. His acquaintance with Venik led to an adventure in which John had to rescue Lynch, Lily, and Lucas, who had been brought to visit, from Veniamin's lair. He didn't steal them out of malice; it was Venik's way of showing his desire to be friends. He used to have another friend, but he died of old age. Now John has taken his place. Veniamin lives in the forest where John's dacha is located, in his own well-equipped cave.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. Familiar While sorting through Uncle Bolton's artifacts in the attic, Lynch finds a strange sword and reads the label on it, which reads "Luka." Then a flying male familiar named Luka appears next to him. The story goes on to show him helping Lynch and John with chores and everything seems to be going well until he threatens to kill John because "death is hanging over him." It all ends with Lynch banishing Luca back.

  2. Metro 2066 A gift containing instructions for opening the portal falls out of the portal. Lynch enters a tedious number and, having prepared himself, travels into the future with John. However, for some unknown reason, the date is lost, and instead of 2032, they end up in 2066. The boys find themselves in a post-apocalyptic subway and learn that after the apocalypse that occurred in 2027, people moved to the subway, and the surface is critically unsafe due to the abundance of creatures. The boys endure countless hardships and are captured by local cannibals. There, they are rescued by old Lucas, who was once a Redneck (cannibal). He didn't want to be one of them, but he had no choice. During the escape, Lucas was wounded and died in the boys' arms. After many more difficulties, the boys were pushed to the surface, where they began to flee from the abundance of creatures. There, Bolton saved them. Suddenly, a creature bursts into their shelter, and Bolton begins to fight it, but the creature grabs Lynch, and Lynch recognizes Lampton in the monster a second before he and Jon fly into the portal. At home, Lynch blames John for preventing him from returning to the future to help his uncle and thinks that Bolton is probably dead. This had a profound effect on Lynch's psyche, and in the next horror story he appears in a completely different light: papers, held together with red thread, are posted all over the house, and he himself, without sleeping or eating, spends several days searching for information about the purple earth.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. Chupacabra Lynch goes missing, and John sets out to find him. He drives to a gas station, the name of which he saw on Lynch's computer. There, he runs into trouble and finds Lynch's broken phone in one of the trucks. John heads to Lynch's location, but encounters Bolton, whom he has never seen before. Bolton cuts off Lynch's head with his sword. John is furious, but it turns out it wasn't Lynch, but a creature in his guise. He then rescues the real Lynch, and they all head to his home. There, at the portal, while Lynch is unconscious, John asks Bolton about the future. He learns that an apocalypse will soon begin from the purple soil, and also that in the future, there is no Bolton. This greatly shakes John's psyche, but he doesn't tell Lynch about his impending death.

  2. Curse Lynch and John fly to Japan to investigate a haunted house. They contact a realtor/translator who helps them. The guys sneak into the house, inspect everything, and set up cameras. Then they leave and return in the evening. Only Lynch enters the house; John sits in the car as lookout and watches the police. Egor wanders through the house and finds a locked hatch to the attic. He goes down to the basement to find the key to the hatch. All is well until ghosts appear. Lynch is locked in the basement, while John, worried about his friend who isn't responding on the radio, enters the house. He goes up to the attic, which has opened of its own accord. While searching for Lynch, a ghost runs out at him, causing John to fall from the window. John is hospitalized with an injured arm. Lynch visits him and then leaves. A rumor about a ghost is circulating in the hospital. John is getting ready for bed, but hears a knock coming from the next room. He goes to investigate, but sees a hanged man slamming his body against the wall. John is subsequently taken by a ghost. He finds himself in a cursed house with other people, in limbo. Lynch tries to find John and learns of the curse mark on him (John is facing death). Fulfilling the ghost's demand by killing, Egor saves John.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. The Island of the Damned and the City of the Damned In these stories, Lynch and John explore locations contaminated by purple soil. The boys arrived on Shutter Island while sailing toward a location where John's friend was sending a SOS signal. The ship was caught in a storm, causing John to be thrown from the ship and washed up on a deserted island. There, he met an old man, Dale, a lighthouse keeper whom he deeply distrusted. It later transpired that the waters off the island were infested with monsters, the inhabitants of an abandoned village, and Dale the only survivor. He hid his sister, who had been transformed into a monster, on the top floor of the lighthouse, searching for a way to cure her. However, John accidentally released her from her cage, angering the creature. Dale then considered committing suicide and joining his relatives by jumping from the lighthouse, but his transformed sister saved him. He wanted to try again, but this time John talked him out of it and took his grandfather under his wing. On the shore, John met Lynch, whom he had been looking for on the island all this time, thinking that the ship had crashed, when in fact they were looking for John, who had fallen from the ship. Afterwards, everyone returned to the ship and sailed on. The ship docked at the right point, the City of the Damned. Everything there was also contaminated by purple soil, but in this city, the people weren't infected, but believed the monster in the water needed to be fed. To avoid this fate, Lynch had to ask for help from Lampton, who summoned a helicopter for the boys.

  2. The Queen of Spades John learns that Lynch has been hiding a time-traveling portal from him in his basement for several years, and he becomes upset. He learned this because of a boy who fell through the portal. John then recklessly jumps into the portal, and Lynch is forced to follow. They end up in a pioneer camp during the Soviet era. There, they pretend to be camp counselors and secretly search for a portal to return home. However, they encounter the ghost of the Queen of Spades, who kills hooligans at night. Eventually, they find a mirror to summon her and wish for a return home.

A brief summary of the main events

  1. Vampire Village John first appears as a resident of the village of Doutstree, the only one who believes Lynch that local resident Jacob is a vampire. He helps Lynch fight the vampires using garlic, vervain, holy water, and aspen stakes. Together, they destroy a nest of vampires, after which they exchange contact information and become allies.

  2. Quarantine Henry Lampton kidnaps the boys and, through his men, transports them to the North Pole, where he forces Lynch and John to find a certain mixture in an abandoned laboratory. The laboratory turned out to be filled with infected scientists who had long since lost their minds. However, there was another uninfected scientist there, but he didn't want to make contact with the boys, as the mixture was what had infected the entire crew. After much deliberation, wandering around the laboratory, overcoming obstacles, Lynch and John decided to trick Lampton. They asked this scientist to make a mixture similar in consistency, then took it and headed back, where a plane was waiting. Everything was going smoothly until they stepped off the plane, and Henry himself stood before them, along with the scientist who had determined the men had brought a fake. Instead of killing the two, Lampton took an interest in them and let them go, hoping that Yegor Lynch would soon agree to cooperate with him.

  3. Snowmen Lynch, John, Lily, and Lucas head out to celebrate the New Year, but John's gift to Lynch, bought at a flea market, turns out to be tied to a ghost. All the snowmen on the perimeter of the recreation center come to life and kill the people outside. While Lynch and John try to save everyone, Yegor doesn't notice one of the snowmen sneak up behind him and stab him through the back. After this whole situation, Lynch fell into a coma for a whole month, which made John think that his friend would never wake up. The event left a large scar on Lynch's chest.

Biography

Background Little is known about John's life before meeting Lynch. It's known that John initially wanted to open a pickup truck school, but ultimately became a writer. To finish writing his book in peace, he settled in the village of Doutstree, where he settled down and raised several cows. John first met Yegor Lynch when the latter visited the writer's village of Doutstree. John was the only person who believed Lynch's claim that one of the villagers, Jacob, was a vampire. After the events in Doutstree, Lynch and John, although friends, do not work together regularly. Lynch calls or texts his friend whenever he needs help. John helps his friend in a battle with Slenderman by destroying his notes. He finds and rescues Lynch at the home of Granny and her family, blows up Freddy's pizzeria, and kills the Yeti.

John currently lives in a one-bedroom apartment in a high-rise building with Dale. He occasionally visits Lynch and spends the night at his country house. He actively assists Yegor in his investigations and cases, working with him.
