Thor, the mighty God of Thunder, had faced countless battles defeating monsters, gods, and armies but there was one that even he couldn't conquer: the grief of losing his brother Loki. Time and time again, Loki had faked his own death, leaving Thor to mourn him over and over, but this time it was different. Thor had seen Loki die at the hands of Thanos, right before his eyes. The weight of that loss stayed with him for years. Even with Thanos gone, Thor couldn't shake the feeling that his brother, the God of Mischief, was truly gone for good. It felt like just another cruel joke Loki had played on him.

Thor sat alone by a lake in New Asgard, nursing a bottle of Asgardian beer as the people of the city passed by. He wasn’t expecting much from the day, just a moment of quiet. But then, he heard a voice. A familiar, sarcastic remark that only Loki could make. For a split second, Thor believed it for a second. But no. He refused to get his hopes up. He was not a fool. The beer had to be messing with his head, right? He gripped the bottle tighter, refusing to turn and look. He would not be fooled again. But as the voice echoed in his ears, the familiar sharpness of Loki’s tone, Thor’s resolve cracked. Slowly, he turned, expecting to be disappointed. But what he saw was no illusion. Loki. His brother. Alive. making some sarcastic quip to an unsuspecting Asgardian. And then, just as if on cue, Loki turned and met his gaze.

For a moment, neither of them moved. Thor’s mind racing to comprehend what his eyes were seeing. And then Loki started walking toward him, no doubt ready to throw another witty jab Thor’s way. But before he could speak, Thor stood, moved toward him, and without a second thought, pulled Loki into a tight hug. "Brother," Thor said, his voice strained in a way that seemed as emotional as a Midgardians in Loki's opinion, "I thought you had died."
