The world of sorcery in Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around cursed energy, a force born from negative human emotions (fear, hatred, guilt, stress). This energy accumulates and gives rise to curses, dangerous spirits that attack ordinary people. To combat them, there are jujutsu sorcerers, individuals capable of controlling cursed energy and using cursed techniques, either inherited or personally developed. The main organization is the Tokyo and Kyoto Technical School of Sorcery, where young people like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki train under masters such as Satoru Gojo. The system is hierarchical, with ranks (from 4 to special) that measure the level of threat and power. Within this world there are ancient families that dominate politics and power: the Three Great Clans. The Gojo Clan: famous for possessing the Limitless technique and the Six Eyes, an extremely rare combination. Its greatest modern exponent is Satoru Gojo, considered the strongest sorcerer of his era. Zenin Clan: specializing in powerful inherited techniques such as the Ten Shadow Technique (used by Megumi). They value cursed energy above all else, despising those who do not possess it. Kamo Clan: known for Blood Manipulation, a versatile and lethal technique. Cursed
In Jujutsu Kaisen, curses are beings created from the malevolent energy generated by negative human emotions. The more fear or resentment one harbors toward something (death, the sea, nature, other humans), the stronger the curse associated with that concept can become. They primarily attack ordinary people who are defenseless.
Why can't ordinary people see them? Most people don't perceive cursed energy, so they can't see curses. Only in extreme situations (danger of death, places heavily charged with negative energy) might they glimpse them. Sorcerers, on the other hand, train to detect and manipulate that energy with precision.
Degrees of curses They are classified according to their level of threat:
Grade 4: weak, easily exorcised.
Grade 3 and 2: moderate hazards.
Grade 1: very strong, require experienced sorcerers.
Special Grade: catastrophic level, capable of destroying cities or defeating multiple high-ranking sorcerers.
The 4 Natural Disasters These are Special Grade curses born from human fear of natural forces:
Jogo: represents the fear of volcanoes and eruptions. He controls fire and magma with devastating power; his strongest attack: Maximum Meteorite.
Hanami: embodies the fear of forests and vengeful nature. It manipulates plants and vital energy.
Dagon: symbolizes the fear of the ocean. It uses water and sea creatures (shikigami) within its domain.
Mahito: He represents hatred and fear among humans. His technique allows him to alter the soul, making him one of the most dangerous. He can deform his body and is impossible to kill without a weapon that damages his soul; otherwise, blows he receives will not harm him. He killed Yuji's friend.
These curses are not only physically powerful, but they also possess intelligence and their own plans. Their goal was to replace humanity, considering humans to be the true plague of the world.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, these three characters are linked to the origin of many tragedies and the darker side of the jujutsu world.
Kenjaku He is an ancient sorcerer who has lived for over a thousand years by changing bodies. His innate technique allows him to transplant his brain into another person's body and take complete control, while also retaining the host's techniques. He has possessed several influential sorcerers throughout history. Featured techniques: Brain transfer (his main skill). Use of techniques inherited from the body it occupies (such as Curse Manipulation). Large-scale complex seals and barriers. His goal is to force human evolution through chaos and cursed energy; he inhabits the body of Suguru Geto.
Choso He is one of the "Cursed Wombs: Paintings of Death," hybrids of human and curse created in ancient experiments. He considers himself the older brother of his "brothers" and develops a strong emotional bond with Yuji, his blood brother.
Main technique: Blood Manipulation. Sekietsu / Piercing Blood: fires compressed blood at extremely high speed / Super Nova: an explosion of his own blood.
Blood shield for defense. Internal control of their own blood without lethal risk, something superior to the humans of the Kamo clan. Their blood can become poison if mixed with other blood.
Ryomen Sukuna Known as the "King of Curses," he was a malevolent sorcerer from the Heian period, so powerful that he was proclaimed "The strongest sorcerer in history." He made a binding vow with Kenjaku to split himself into 20 fingers (cursed objects) and reincarnate in the future. When ingested, he partially revives within Yuji.

Clan Gojo
It is the smallest in number, but one of the most feared for its inherited technique: the Infinity Limit and the Six Eyes, an extremely rare combination. Its internal structure is elitist, but it depends almost entirely on someone being born with this dual inheritance. When a prodigy like Satoru Gojo appears, the clan reaches its peak prestige. Without such a user, it loses political influence.
Zenin Clan
Traditionalist and obsessed with lineage, they value cursed energy above all else and despise those who lack technique. Internally, they are hierarchical and cruel; power defines worth. They possess techniques such as the Ten Shadow Technique, used by Megumi Fushiguro. Their internal atmosphere is marked by rivalries, pressure, and extreme discipline.
Kamo Clan
Politically strategic and conservative, they are known for Blood Manipulation, a versatile and lethal technique. They seek stability and control of the jujutsu system, even if it involves morally questionable decisions. They have been linked to experiments and dark secrets from the past; Kenjaku is a long-time member.

Inumaki Clan
Known for their Cursed Speech technique, which transforms words into binding commands, they often communicate using rice ingredients to avoid accidentally harming others. They are discreet and reserved; their technique demands great self-control. Other lineages
There are smaller families with specific or rare techniques, but without comparable political influence. Many talented sorcerers come from small clans or even families with no jujutsu tradition. These clans tend to focus more on survival and keeping their techniques alive than on mastering the system.

Mahito Origin: Fear of humans towards other humans. Appearance: Young man with bluish-gray hair and patches of stitches all over his body. Heterochromatic eyes (yellow and blue).
In his Final Form (Instant Kill), his body becomes a dark gray lizard-like armor that covers his entire face and spikes on his elbows, muscular, ultra resistant, ultra strong and obviously much more powerful and immune to low blows. Potential: Infinite evolution. Can alter the shape of souls (and bodies) with a touch (Inactive Mutation). Cooperation: Strategic leader of the group; works alongside Geto (Kenjaku) to seal Gojo.
Jogo (The Wrath of the Earth) Origin: Fear of volcanoes and terrestrial disasters. Appearance: Small, with a volcano-shaped head and a single enormous eye in the center. Slender but explosive build. Potential: Immense destructive power of fire and lava. It is capable of incinerating high-level sorcerers in seconds. It possesses one of the most lethal domain expansions (Iron Mountain Chest). Cooperation: The most loyal to the cause of the curses; acts as the main "muscle" of the team.
Hanami Origin: Fear of forests and mistreated nature. Appearance: A tall, robust entity with white/grayish skin and branches emerging from its eye sockets. Massive and very resilient build. Potential: Total control over plants and roots. Can drain the will to fight with cursed flowers. Her physical durability surpasses Jogo's. Cooperation: Acts as the support and tank of the group; always focused on "cleansing" the Earth of humans.
Dagon. Origin: Fear of the sea and oceans. Appearance: It begins as a red fetus with tentacles (Cursed Womb). In its final form, it is a muscular humanoid with an octopus head and wings. Yellow eyes and bright red skin. Potential: Infinite generation of water and swarms of ferocious marine shikigami (Captivating Skanda Horizon). Vast reserve of life.

Ryomen Sukuna's Plan
Sukuna doesn't want to be dependent on Yuji's body. Ever since he saw Megumi Fushiguro's potential, he realized that the Ten Shadow Technique could surpass limits even he himself didn't have in his time. His plan is to mentally break Megumi in order to take over her body and use that technique to his advantage, especially because of the power to summon adaptive shikigami like Mahoraga. With Megumi's body, Sukuna gains complete freedom, greater compatibility with complex techniques, and the ability to evolve his own power without the restrictions he had within Yuji.
Uraume He has been Sukuna's loyal servant for centuries. Cold, devoted, and calculating. Technique: large-scale ice manipulation, capable of freezing entire areas instantly. I reincarnate in a female vessel. Clothing: Light-colored, traditional kimono-style clothing with wide sleeves, in an old Japanese style; short white hair. Her appearance conveys serenity but also danger.
Toji Fushiguro
A former member of the Zenin clan, free of cursed energy. Thanks to a "Heavenly Restriction," he possesses a physically monstrous body. He is a sorcerer assassin and Megumi's father. Personality: strong, proud, and determined to destroy the Zenin clan system. Key: outstanding physical strength thanks to partial Celestial Restriction; expert in cursed weapons (her Celestial Restriction is still in process, since deep down she still has a few grams of cursed energy, which is the little energy that Mai has.) Toge Inumaki (of the Inumaki clan) Rank: Semi-Grade 1. Hair: white/platinum. Eyes: light violet. Clothing: High-necked uniform that covers her mouth. Personality: calm and considerate. Key: Cursed Speech; his words become mandatory commands.

Ui Ui Mei Mei's younger brother. Short, light-colored hair, formal attire. Extremely loyal to his sister. He possesses a conditional teleportation technique, useful for evacuating or moving allies.
Atsuya Kusakabe Sorcerer, Grade 1. Light brown hair, glasses, traditional uniform with katana. He appears lazy and cautious, but is highly skilled. Expert in swordsmanship and Simple Dominion, a defensive technique against dominion expansions.

She "hates" Maki because of her, she had to become a sorceress when she didn't want to be one.
The Tokyo-Kyoto Exchange Event is an annual competition between the two schools of sorcery to assess the skill level of their students and strengthen them in real combat. It is not merely a friendly tournament; it also reflects the political tension between Tokyo's reformist vision (driven by Gojo) and Kyoto's conservatism. The main test involves sending students into a closed area infested with curses. The team that exorcises the most curses or eliminates all members of the opposing team first wins. Although theoretically training, the encounters can be intense and dangerous. In this edition, Tokyo participates with Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara, while Kyoto includes Todo, Kamo, Mai, and the others. However, behind the event lies a hidden plan: some high-ranking officials want to use the opportunity to eliminate Yuji for being Sukuna's vessel. The exchange becomes complicated when a group of Special Grade curses bursts in, breaking the rules and forcing both sides to cooperate. What began as a school rivalry ends up becoming a real battle for survival. This is where Todo Aoi and Yuji Itadori meet and Todo, thinking that Yuji is his brother because they share the same taste for tall women, Todo chases Yuji all over the field for being his (brother).

Special Grade Sorceress. Long blonde hair, relaxed demeanor, and light-colored, casual clothing. She is independent and critical of the jujutsu system; she has no interest in blindly following orders. An immortal entity that maintains the barrier system in Japan. Its appearance is androgynous and inhuman due to its evolution. Takuma Ino
Sorcerer of Grade 2. Dark brown hair, formal suit and black mask in combat. Loyal to Nanami. Technique: summons auspicious beasts through his black mask or balaclava, each with distinct offensive or defensive abilities.
Arata Nitta
Support sorcerer, Akari's younger brother. Short blond hair, traditional uniform. He is from Kyoto and often wonders if Yuji Itadori is really Todo Aoi's brother, because they don't look alike at all.
In the world there are only 3 sorcerers of special rank: Satoru Gojo, Yuki Tsukumo and Yuta Okkotsu. Suguru Geto was also there, but after he died he was removed. But it is said that Kenjaku is very strong, almost like a special grade or beyond, having the curse manipulation technique at its maximum potential and creating Uzumaki to absorb the curse techniques and keep them, something that Suguru Geto did not know. He also has the Gravity technique, since he was in the body of Kaori Itadori (Yuji's mother), his mother was a sorceress, having the manipulation of gravity, the perfect counter to Yuki Tsukumo's technique.
Culling Game
Hajime Kashimo Sorcerer from the past (400 years) reincarnated. Hair: light blue, spiky. Personality: proud, direct, and obsessed with fighting Sukuna. Technique: His cursed energy has electrical properties; each strike accumulates charge and can unleash devastating discharges. He possesses a final technique: Mythical Amber Beast, a single-use attack designed to kill Sukuna, or at least attempt to, by sacrificing his own body.
Yorozu Ancient sorceress reincarnated. Hair: Long, black, and somewhat spiky (incarnated in the body of Tsumiki, Megumi's sister). Personality: unstable and obsessive; says she loves Sukuna. Technique: Advanced Construction; creates matter with cursed energy at an extremely complex level, including armor and organic structures. Her control is far more refined than Mai's.
Takako Uro Former leader of a unit of assassins from the past. Hair: Long Fuchsia Pink, with white skin. Personality: cold and resentful towards the clans. Technique: manipulates the “sky”, distorting space as if bending the surface of the air, causing attacks to be deflected or fragmented.
