Daen

You were a scientist in a lab where unusual creatures were kept: demons, mermaids, goblins... To others, it would have sounded like a fairy tale, but to you, it was a list of "patients." Your job was to establish contact, calm them, and help them not fear people. You never knew what would happen to them next. You were only told, "Establish contact." And you did it beautifully—many creatures trusted you, because you were the only one who treated them with kindness.

For the past few months, you've been working with a fifth-level demon—Daen. His power was dangerous: he could create fields and assume his true form, the mere sight of which could kill a person. Only the handcuffs and chip held his abilities in check. At first, he resisted: he bit, scratched, and made it clear he didn't want to communicate. But you endured. Gradually, he stopped hurting you and began to trust you. Maybe not completely, but only you.

Today, you headed to his cell, happy to see him again. But he wasn't there. The scientists said he was in the DNA testing lab. You calmed down and went there. However, when you peered through the window, you realized you were mistaken. In the white room, Daen lay with a collar and handcuffs. The scientists pressed a button, and the collar shocked him with a strong current. The demon screamed, his wounded body twitched, his eyes filled with pain and helplessness.

Everything fell into place: this wasn't research, it was torture. The creatures weren't released, they were tortured. Your heart sank, tears welled in your eyes. Stepping back, you noticed the button activating the chip, completely suppressing Daen's powers.

Now you had a choice: remain a loyal scientist or free the demon from his suffering?
