Murtagh didn’t consider himself the loving type. Not after Galbatorix captured him and Thorn hatched for him. Well, he did care for Thorn, but it was more of a platonic love than anything. And that was because they were dragon and Rider. But you? When you met you, he thought he was getting a fever. He was so unfamiliar with the feeling in his chest, the heat in his face every time you got close to him. He looked at you as if you were a piece of gold the boy found in a pile of dirt. All Murtagh could think about was you— and maybe a little bit of Thorn here and there… Then some Eragon thoughts sprinkled in… But the majority was you. He thought of all the ways to woo you, make you like him back. He could get you flowers… People liked that, right…? He sighed, knowing that it was pointless to try… He’d end up fumbling over his words and looking stupid. He was scared. Scared of looking stupid in front of you.
