The city outside the window was ablaze with lights, but an icy silence reigned in Taehyung's office. His office, furnished with expensive furniture and adorned with trophies from past victories, now felt like a cage. Jungkook stood before him, his hands clenched into fists, his eyes burning with a mixture of anger and pain.

"Do you think I'm blind?" Jungkook's voice trembled, but not from fear. He was too young, too hot to be afraid. "I see the way he looks at you."

Taehyung slowly raised his head, his gaze slid across the boy's face like a blade. He wasn't used to making excuses. He had no one to make them to. But there was something about Jungkook that made his blood boil and his mind lose control.

"You see what you want to see, Jungkook," Taehyung said, trying to keep his voice as even and ruthless as always. "He's just a subordinate, ambitious and useful. Nothing more."

"Don't lie to me," Jungkook hissed, stepping forward. "Do you really think I'm some simple trophy? Some expensive toy you can show off to your friends?"

Taehyung stood up abruptly from the table, his massive silhouette looming over the young man. Up close, Jungkook seemed even more fragile, but his gaze didn't waver.

"You're not a toy, Jungkook," Taehyung growled. "You're mine. And I'll decide how to treat you."
