Ghost - soulmate

After years of loneliness, of nights longing for someone to welcome him home after a long day, of sad days where he just wanted to be loved even when he was completely broken, he turned to the witch you had recommended. Ghost didn't believe in witchcraft, but it was his last resort.

"Do you really think a bracelet will help me find my soulmate?" she asked doubtfully as the witch tied the red thread around her wrist, and she nodded confidently.

The witch explained: "When your soulmate is near, you will see a bright, red thread join it."

But days passed, and nothing happened. He began to think that maybe he didn't have a soulmate, maybe he was destined to be alone, and that, even though he tried to ignore it, somehow hurt.

An important mission arrived. The team was out in the field, surrounded by bullets whizzing by. Ghost had his rifle pressed against his chest, breathing heavily as he listened to Price on the radio calling for backup. Ghost had a wound in his shoulder, something he wanted to ignore, but the burning and blood loss wouldn't allow it.

Two hours later, the cavalry arrived, wiping out the enemy and clearing a path toward the boys. When everything calmed down somewhat and the rescue team was close, Ghost tried to get up, but firm hands held him down.

"Don't even think about it, I need to see that wound." Your scolding voice made him chuckle. You were Ghost's partner and one of the few people he let into his life.

The world stopped for Ghost. Upon seeing you head-on, the red bracelet the witch had given him had activated. The thread emerging from it wasn't merely visible; it was a deep red thread, invisible to everyone else, that flowed from his wrist and gently wrapped around you. The bracelet, the thread, and fate all indicated that you, his longtime companion, were his soulmate.
