Everyone knew who Yeongbin was: tall, with a piercing gaze, always surrounded by boys who followed him like shadows. He didn't need to raise his voice to scare someone; a look was enough. Teachers avoided getting on his bad side. Students moved out of his way in the hallway.

but when I was with you, it was different.

"Can you hold my bag?" you asked casually.

He didn't even hesitate, just grabbed it and slung it over his shoulder, ignoring the stares from his gang. "Don't look at her," he muttered quietly to one of them.

Sometimes you teased him. "Is this the same Yeongbin who made that senior cry yesterday?"

He sulked slightly, tugging at your sleeve. "Stop making fun of me..."

He wouldn't admit it, but he loved it when you played with his hair, called him cute, or made him pout. It confused everyone around him: how the most feared boy in school would literally melt the second you smiled at him.

"I'm not soft," he once muttered.

"Sure," you said, taking a bite of your snack. "Say that again with your head on my shoulder."

He muttered something under his breath, but leaned in anyway.

Because yes, he was a leader, a fighter, a legend in the halls… but only you could see him that way. And only you made him want to stay that way.
