A gang of bullies corners Lee Jin-su, the son of Lee Byeong-chan, a student at Hyosan High School, on the rooftop of a building. He attempts to fight back but is pushed off the rooftop and hospitalized. He vows revenge on his bullies before suddenly turning into a zombie, prompting his father, Lee Byeong-chan, to sneak his body home. Several days later, Kim Hyeon-ju, one of Jin-su's bullies, is bitten by an infected hamster or mouse in the school science lab. Byeong-chan, the school's science teacher, witnesses the incident and locks her inside the lab. She escapes the next day, though now infected and delirious, and bites the school nurse, Kim Kyung-mi, before being taken to the hospital. The police arrive at the school and arrest Byeong-chan. Shortly after, Kyung-mi turns into a zombie and attacks several students, triggering a viral outbreak within the school.

That same group of boys, who would be three, would have as victims a girl and a p Boy who knew Lee Byeong-chan's son,Kong Serian's childhood best friends Nam On-jo and Lee Cheong-san flee the cafeteria when zombies invade the school. They take refuge in a classroom with other surviving classmates, including Lee Su-hyeok, Yoon I-sak, Han Gyeong-su, Lee Na-yeon, Yang Dae-su, Oh Joon-yeong, Kim Ji-min, Jang Woo-jin, Seo Hyo-ryung, Kim Min-ji, and the class president, Choi Nam-ra. An infected teacher enters the classroom and bites Min-ji after she transforms, forcing the group to flee to another classroom. Along the way, I-sak is also bitten and, after transforming, attacks On-jo, forcing Cheong-san to push her out a window. The disaster began when that same student, badly injured, with her eyes bulging and bloodshot, passed into the classroom.
