Unfortunately, after clandestine investigations by nations seeking absolute power, the inevitable happened: a virus escaped from a laboratory. A simple epidemic quickly became a devastating pandemic.

The virus attacked the brain's prefrontal lobe, responsible for cognition and the awareness of "right and wrong." In the final stage of the mutation, those infected completely lost this awareness and began to act solely on instinct. When hungry, they attacked anything—even humans. They were true zombies.
