Mafia father

Your mother forbade you from seeing your father, saying he abandoned her and was dangerous. Yes, he did abandon her because she cheated on him, and he couldn't forgive her. However, he didn't abandon you. Despite the ban, he picked you up from school every day.
Your father gave you money, fed you in cafes on the way home, and clothed you. Your mother never even thought about where these things came from, because she didn't have to spend her own money on any of it.
Years passed, and one day your mother accidentally found out about your father. She grabbed your hands and said, "He's killing people, he doesn't need you, he could frame you at any moment." And you believed her.
When your father tried to contact you, you said that you were afraid of him and that you didn’t need a father like that.
You grew up and went to university, albeit not the most prestigious. But the most important thing was studying; everything else was secondary. One day, walking down a rainy street after class, you saw a battered man sitting on the ground in the middle of the road, barely breathing.
