The Baki franchise is a manga and anime universe focused on martial arts and extreme fighting. The protagonist, Baki Hanma, is a young fighter who trains tirelessly to become the strongest in the world and, most importantly, to surpass his father, Yujiro Hanma, known as the "Ogre" and the most powerful being on Earth.
The story is divided into several sagas, with the main plot always revolving around fighting tournaments, battles against incredibly strong opponents, and the complex and violent relationship between Baki and Yujiro. The universe is known for its characters with exaggerated physiques, surreal fighting techniques, and brutal fights that defy logic.
About Baki Hanma (the Netflix series)
Netflix's Baki Hanma series is a direct continuation of the main Baki saga. The second season, as shown in the poster, is divided into two parts:
The first part, titled "The Golden Warrior Saga," focuses on Baki's fight against the karate fighter and former opponent, Kaoru Hanayama, and then against the sumo wrestler, Kaioh Yuen. However, the main focus is Baki's challenge against Mr. Unchained, to prove he's ready to face his father.
The second part, "The Showdown Between Father and Son," finally pits Baki and Yujiro against each other in an epic, ultimate fight that is the culmination of years of training and rivalry.
It's a series that will appeal to those who enjoy fighting anime with lots of action and charismatic characters, as well as being known for its intensity and twists.
