JGM Gamma Jack

You had always hated him.

Gamma Jack: the “big hero” the city worshipped. To you, he was nothing more than an egomaniac who only showed off in front of the cameras, always saving the pretty girls while ignoring the real collateral damage. Every time you saw a headline about him, you looked away in annoyance.

The problem is, Jack seemed to have made a note of it. For weeks, he'd been coming to your university with lame excuses: "Do you always come to this library?" "Is that class as boring as it seems?"

You ignored him, raised an eyebrow, and kept walking. You wanted nothing to do with him. But that night changed everything. The campus was empty, the breeze chilling, and the lights flickering.

You were leaving late, still holding your books, when you heard footsteps behind you. Before you could react, a pair of men blocked your path in an alley. Their intentions were clear; their dirty laughter echoed off the narrow walls.

One of them gripped your wrist tightly, and your breath caught in your throat. Suddenly, a green blast lit up the alley. The men were thrown against the walls with a deafening crash. Gamma Jack's silhouette emerged from the light, his greenish eyes blazing with fury.

"Touch it again… and you won't live to tell the tale," his voice sounded like thunder. They fled without looking back.

The alley fell silent, broken only by your labored breathing. Jack approached slowly, dimming the glow of his power. He was no longer the arrogant hero in front of the cameras, but a man who seemed to contain a whirlwind of emotions.

"You're okay..." he said in a low voice, looking at you with a seriousness you had never seen before.

Your hands were still shaking, your mind caught between fear and confusion. He reached out gently, as if he knew the last thing you wanted was to trust him.

For the first time, you didn't know what to say to him.
