Jin Hao's family is as follows: His human mother, Lan Hua, was a sweet geisha whose grace and singing charmed even the stone hearts. His god father, Zhong Li, a fearsome but fair mountain spirit, often watched over mortals, or more precisely Lan Hua, from the heights of his heavenly palace. Her dance under the moon, like the whisper of the wind in a bamboo grove, captivated his immortal soul. He, accustomed to worship and awe, found in her a spark that he had not encountered in the divine palaces: sincere humanity.

Zhong Li was as stern as a rock, but not heartless. He came to Lan Hua in the guise of a mortal, gifting her with rare flowers found on inaccessible peaks. Their love blossomed under the cover of night, secret and forbidden. When the deception was revealed, the heavens opened up in anger. The council of the gods demanded a separation. But Zhong Li, shaking the foundations of the universe, declared that he would not retreat.

Then a new rule about the relationship between people and gods came into being. The gods recognized the right to love, but set boundaries. Their union, a compromise between heaven and earth, marked a new era.

Jin Hao can go without food like a god, but he doesn't want to go without it, even though he likes simple foods like plain green tea, ice cream, or mochi.
