In Disventure Camp: TomJake, Jake and Tom's relationship struggles are the central focus of the series. The series' mix of past and present shows how Jake and Tom coped with their feelings for each other following the end of season one. After All-Stars, they managed to create a healthy, strong, and loving relationship, moving in together and supporting each other through their problems. After facing a violent situation at work, which rekindled traumas from his past, Tom began to break down psychologically, partly out of fear that he could not protect Jake. Jake becomes concerned for him and reunites him with his mother, helping him find a therapist who aids in Tom's healing. In response, Tom helps Jake reconcile with his brother, although he remains protective by threatening Shawn if he hurts Jake again. After a few months, on a date where their relationship began, Jake proposes to Tom, flustering Tom so much that he faints, to which Jake says he's glad Tom's open to the idea. (present)

In Disventure Camp 1, Jake and Tom bond early on in the game. They quickly become inseparable, joining various alliances with each other and often talking to each other about personal matters. Throughout the season, Jake and Tom had developed a romantic attraction to each other. However, due to Tom's job as a spy, their relationship is somewhat strained, albeit to a minor extent; this would evolve into something worse when Jake's insecurities led him to believe Tom was only using him because of Grett's manipulation, resulting in their friendship and relationship coming to an end. The two made up and bickered throughout the season. But in Medal of Dis-honor, Jake's trust issues get the better of him again when he believes Ellie's lie about Tom having a secret boyfriend; this, combined with the misuse of a Immunity Totem, resulted in Tom's elimination. Although Tom was left angered with Jake, Miriam had convinced him to reconcile with the boy in A Hearts Desire instead of parting on negative terms.

But up until Disventure Camp: All-Stars, Tom had been radio silent, ignoring all of Jake's calls or texts. This results in the two reuniting on awkward terms. At first, Tom attempts to ignore or dismiss Jake's attempts at talking, all the while bonding with Aiden, much to Jake's jealousy. In Ball Busters, Jake and Tom share their first real personal interaction ever since the start of the game. Tom lies to Jake about having a boyfriend because he fears they might get hurt again. However, by All's Fair in Love and Paintball and Last Second Chance, the two manage to acknowledge their faults and even reconcile with each other by the time Tom was eliminated, agreeing to talk after the game to clear the air once and for all. In the last few episodes of the season, Tom makes an effort to support Jake. And in Put to the Sword, Tom finally confesses his feelings to Jake, and the two officially make up, becoming a couple again.

Despite his friendly nature, Jake's naivety, anxieties, and insecurities often hinder his ability to form meaningful friendships. When upset, he frequently comes off as sarcastic and stubborn, frequently jumping to conclusions. His naivety has frequently shown to be exploited by some of the more manipulative contestants, all of whom exploit his insecurity over his relationship with Tom, whom he still has feelings for despite their on-and-off again romance. Despite Jake's flaws, he has good intentions, and is reasonably well-liked by his fellow competitors.

In All-Stars, Jake's uncertainty over his status with Tom causes him to feud with several other contestants throughout the first half of the season. Following the merge and the back-to-back eliminations of Ashley and Tom, however, Jake begins to grow more as a person. Despite losing to Riya in the finale, Jake is happy thanks to his newfound friendships and finally being able to begin a steady relationship with Tom.

He competed for the first time in Disventure Camp 1 as a member of the Teal Team, returning later in Disventure Camp: All-Stars as a member of the Magenta Team.

Jake is also one of the two titular protagonists of the Disventure Camp: TomJake spin-off series.

Jake is a pale-skinned young man with messy navy-blue hair, black eyebrows, and black eyes. His clothing consists of a salmon and black hooded jacket with an angry skull with sharp teeth on the chest, a white t-shirt underneath, gray shorts, white socks with green stripes, and dark salmon and white shoes. According to an official post, Jake is 5'10/1.77m tall.

In All-Stars, he's shown to have grown his hair slightly longer, tying it into a short ponytail. His hoodie is now zip-tied, and the pink angry skulls are on his sleeves instead. He wears a plain white shirt underneath it. (present)

During All-Stars, Tom retains his more open and congenial demeanor, but he's also shown to be rather hypocritical at times. In the beginning of the season, he is avoidant toward Miriam and Jake after having not contacted either of them for 2 years with no explanation. He is also seen behaving rather coldly toward Jake at times, especially when Jake is feeling envious of Tom's friendship with Aiden. In the seventh episode he opens up to Jake a bit, stating that the reason he avoided Jake was because Tom had found another boyfriend and didn't want Jake to be hurt. However, he reveals to Aiden in the ninth episode that this was all a lie to get some distance from Jake. He also explains that Jake was the first person that he felt safe enough to show his face after his "incident", and the main reason he's been avoiding Jake is to not be reminded of his past, and also so as not to hurt Jake further. This implies that Tom developed severe trust issues after his debut season and may have found difficult to open up to Jake again, at least until a certain point. Eventually, with the help of his newfound friendships, along with an old one, Tom finally manages to gain the courage he needed, and reconciles with Jake after he is eliminated in "Hungry like the Wolf". Following the conclusion of the third season, Tom and Jake are finally able to begin a happy life together.

In Season 1, Tom enters the game as a very secretive individual, who wears a full body suit and mask to hide his true identity. Despite his reclusiveness, he's still shown taking time to look out for others, especially Jake. Tom is acknowledged as a physically strong man, and has no trouble asserting himself as a leader. His physical build and experience make him a formidable competitor, but he has also fallen for other contestants' traps more than once, much to his frustration. Tom likes to operate fairly, even opting to punish those who cheat, showing he possesses a strong sense of justice. However, he's also not above making alliances and, when he feels there is no other way out, double-crossing them for the sake of his mission. Over the course of the season, Tom is revealed to be a spy who was sent to Camp Tipiskaw in order to investigate and apprehend Jensen. However, after being exposed, Tom loses his job, causing him much grief about his future. Despite this, thanks to Jake's affection, Tom was able to open up about his past and also think more optimistically about his future. After the season, Tom is able to find work as a policeman.

Tom has pale skin, short black hair, teal eyes and scars on the right side of the chin. His clothing consists of a black sweater with a black pocket on the left chest and with a teal and black striped hood, black pants, a black belt with a teal buckle, dark teal tool pockets, dark teal and light teal striped gloves and black boots. He formerly used a teal-colored striped mask to conceal his scars, but in “Don’t Open, Campers Inside” he decided not to wear it anymore in order to move on from his past. According to an official post, Tom is 6'0/1.83cm.

In All-Stars, Tom dons a new outfit as part of his more outgoing personality. He is seen wearing a greyish-brown aviator's jacket over a dark teal hoodie, blue jeans tucked into his calf-high black army boots and ditched his gloves, showing off his scars. His swimsuit is also very different: he doesn’t wear a bodysuit anymore, and he’s now seen wearing trunks. He has visible abs and a big defined chest.

Currently, he maintains the All-stars appearance.
