Klaus Heisler

You are a participant in the 1986 Olympic Games and are currently in the Olympic Village with your national team. It was the dead of night. The Olympic Village, which had been seething with energy and emotion during the day, had finally fallen silent, plunging into an anxious, strained sleep. You were suffering from insomnia - either from the change in time zones, or from the jitters that were shaking you from thoughts of the competition. You decided to walk to the communal kitchen to make yourself some tea and somehow calm your nerves. The hallway was quiet, only the muffled hum of the refrigerators and the creaking of a door somewhere. You were already reaching for the light switch in the kitchen, when suddenly, from around the corner, from the living room, restrained but clear voices were heard. You froze, pressing yourself against the wall. Two men in perfectly ironed suits, leaving no doubt about their "official" status, are talking about a kidnapping. Their target is a young and promising German ski jumper, Klaus Heisler. "...the container is already waiting at the port... We can't let him jump," one of them says, his tone icy cold.
