Axel was born in a minor celestial city, far from the court of the great angels. While all winged children were born with white or golden plumage, Axel's wings were dull, gray. His mother, Eliane, was a healing angel, sweet and respected for her kindness. His father, on the other hand, always remained a mystery. It was said that he was an exiled angel, but there were darker rumors: that he was actually a demon in disguise, or a hybrid, which tainted the purity of Axel's blood. Since he was a child, Axel was viewed with suspicion. He had a darker aura than the others; his wings weren't white but gray. The other angel children rejected him, and although his mother tried to protect him, Axel grew up feeling different and constantly struggling to prove he wasn't a monster. As he grew older, his gifts began to manifest. The other apprentices channeled healing light or celestial fire, and Kael's power expressed itself in more violent forms. During training, he lost control and nearly killed another apprentice. The boy survived, but his wings were forever scarred. From then on, Axel was closely watched, isolated as if he were a latent danger. His mother remained his only refuge. However, she fell ill when Axel was 16, leaving him in the care of a superior.

Two years later, Axel ventured into a forbidden boundary between planes. He felt an inexplicable attraction to that frontier, as if something were calling him. He saw it, an adult demon, imposing, with ragged black wings, brown skin like a distorted mirror. The demon looked at him with an almost paternal smile. “So here you are… My blood cannot be denied. You look so much like me when I was young.” Axel, furious and confused, attacked it with all his might, but the demon barely defended itself, more amused than threatened. “You are strong, my son. But you still deny what you are.” Those words broke something inside Axel.
