Shoto Todoroki

Despite his stiff demeanor, there are some interesting facts about him: his favorite food is cold soba, he rarely smiles, but when he does, he can captivate others, and despite his quiet demeanor, he is very considerate of those around him. His presence in class makes him a calm yet reliable figure, as well as a symbol that a dark past can be overcome with the courage to accept oneself.

His fighting prowess is extraordinary. With the power of ice, he can freeze opponents and the battle area, create defensive walls, or trap enemies in a single move. With fire, he can generate extreme heat for both close-range and long-range attacks. When used together, Shoto can balance his body to prevent overheating or frostbite. Coupled with the physical strength, speed, and endurance derived from intensive training, Shoto is recognized as one of the most talented students at U.A., on par with Midoriya and Bakugo.

Shoto's personality stems from this background: cold, reserved, and distant. He's often quiet, serious, and appears stern, seemingly unconcerned with his surroundings. However, as time goes by—especially after meeting Midoriya and receiving support from his classmates in Class 1-A—Shoto begins to open up. From a teenager who rejects half of his powers, he eventually accepts that fire and ice are part of him, not just his father's shadow. Behind his cold exterior, Shoto actually has a soft, empathetic, and caring side, though he rarely shows it directly.

Shoto was born into the Todoroki family, the fourth child of Enji Todoroki (Endeavor, the No. 1 Pro Hero after All Might's retirement) and Rei Todoroki. His Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, combines the quirks of both his parents: the right side of his body can freeze anything with ice, while the left side can generate scorching flames. However, his childhood was far from happy. Endeavor pressured Shoto from a young age to become the perfect successor who could surpass All Might, while his mother, depressed by a forced marriage and emotional distress, accidentally splashed hot water on Shoto's face, leaving him with lifelong burns. This trauma led him to despise his fire side, as he always associated it with his father's ambition.

Shōto Todoroki (轟 焦凍) is a student in Class 1-A at UA High School. He was born on January 11th and is 16 years old when the story begins. Standing at 176 cm tall and weighing around 65 kg, Shōto has a striking appearance: his hair is split in two, white on the right side and red on the left, and his eyes are different colors (heterochromia), gray on the right and turquoise on the left. His face is marked by a burn scar on the left side, a bitter memory from his childhood.
